We've tried reaching out to you for additional information to help us understand exactly what you mean by your review, however we have not heard back.
Hosting reviews of contractors on BuildZoom is only part of what we actually provide. While your description of being much like a ""Yelp"" for contractors is true, we also assist property owners with finding contractors in their local area and act as an owner's rep to help them validate contractors and get through the pre-construction process. Our Premium services include sourcing contractors, collecting and comparing bids to unlock value engineering and save the property owner time and money, and administering contracts. Regardless of whether or not someone leaves a review who worked with BuildZoom, we have checks in place through our review integrity team to verify that the person leaving the review is real.
The contractors in our database are not employed by BuildZoom, nor does BuildZoom have its own network. We evaluate contractors based on a lot of different criteria to determine if the contractor is the best fit for your project and how reliable they are. Things such as (but not limited to) the number of permits they’ve filed in their lifetime (and in the last 12 months), the number of jobs they’ve completed, the types of jobs they completed, the reviews they receive on different review platforms, the number of years they’ve been in business, their bid-to-hire rate, their licenses, and how responsive & engaged they are with both their clients and BuildZoom. All of these factors, and more, go into their BuildZoom score that ranks them among other contractors in their local area.
Thank you for providing a review of a contractor on their BuildZoom profile. Leaving reviews on someone's BuildZoom profile helps us separate great contractors from the rest while also assisting property owners in making final decisions on who to choose for their project. Once we see a review for a contractor come through, it is common for us to ask if this person completed other projects with different contractors, and to leave a review on their profile as well. I am sorry to hear that you feel that you have been hounded. If you would be able to provide us with further detail, such as an email, we can further verify your case.
