Deceptive Marketing and Broken…
Deceptive Marketing and Broken Promotional LinksI am filing a complaint regarding a highly misleading promotional email I received from Camping Survival after signing up for their free monthly giveawys, as well as the poor customer service that followed. The automated welcome email explicitly states: "To kick things off right, we’re dropping a 2-Week Emergency Food Kit in your lap—with a little something extra." (Implies giving aince its being :dropped")also offers a "FREE 4-in-1 Emergency Radio" . The phrasing "dropping a kit in your lap" strongly implies a gift or sign-up reward(especiallysince i was giving my email to sign up for their "free" monthly give away), creating a deliberately confusing and deceptive "bait-and-switch" impression for the consumer.Furthermore, the call-to-action link ("Claim Your Food + Free Radio Here") resulted in a 404 "Page Not Found" error, making it impossible to even view the actual terms or pricing of the offer on their website. When I contacted customer service to report the broken link and clarify the offer, the representative was entirely unaware of the promotion. She initially implied the email may be not ne sent by them. After a lengthy hold, she returned to state that I would have to pay $125 for the food kit to receive the radio. As a major online retailer, Camping Survival should not be sending broken links and highly ambiguous promotional language to new users, nor should their customer facing staff be completely untrained on active marketing campaigns. I am logging this complaint to request that Camping Survival correct their misleading email templates, fix their broken web links, and properly train their support staff to handle promotional inquiries and to offer something for their mistake, she could have at least offered to give me the radio as a courtesy since I was also goimg to purchase the Alexapure Walter filtration AND I was also going to purchase an extra filter, but after feeling mislead as a brand new customer amd after she offered no solution, I didnt feel comfortable making any purchase with them so they not only lost out on approx $400 today, but there is ALOT more things I need to buy in the VERY NEAR future that I could have purchased from them...so sad this happened as I was really happy at first, but now not so much
