We're genuinely sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with our Halo Collar, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We understand how important it is to find the right solution for your pet's safety and training.
Regarding the age and attention span of puppies, you're absolutely right. Younger dogs, particularly those under 5-6 months, often have shorter attention spans, which can indeed make training more challenging. This is why we recommend using the Halo Collar for dogs that are at least 5 months old and weigh a minimum of 20 pounds. We apologize if this aspect contributed to your difficulties.
Concerning the issue with the outdated map, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. To update the satellite imagery in the app, you can go to the 'My Map' tab, select the stack of paper icon, and then click on the "My map is outdated" button. This process should help in getting more accurate and up-to-date mapping for your property. Additionally, manually creating fence posts using the collar in hand can be an effective alternative. For more detailed guidance, please refer to our "How to create a fence" article on our website.
As for your dog’s instinctual behavior, especially given its hunting breed characteristics, we understand that certain stimuli like squirrels or cats can overpower training and alerts. Revisiting training and reinforcing it continuously can often resolve such issues. We have seen many cases where persistent and consistent training helps in overcoming these instinctual reactions.
