Our destination was a little perplexing based on what we thought our questionnaire responses would have indicated

highlights:
Our pre-arranged plans, including flights, hotel, activity, and dinner reservations, were greatly appreciated.
We enjoyed exploring the town on e-bikes, despite the 100 degree weather.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were pleasant.
We also thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the first restaurant.
Areas for improvement:
Destination
Choosing Savannah as a mid-summer destination was questionable. While we understand that "you can't control the weather," Savannah's July climate is consistently very hot and humid. This made outdoor exploration, a key part of the city's appeal, quite challenging.
Hotel location
The hotel's location was a significant drawback, being a 20-minute walk from the town center. Due to the high temperatures, we were compelled to use Uber for transportation into town. We question why a hotel in a more central location wasn't chosen. Had budget been a concern, we would have willingly allocated more funds for a more convenient location, had we been consulted on this.
The element of surprise
We had planned to open the envelope together on Friday morning. However, Teddy inadvertently opened the email we received at midnight, believing it contained necessary information, and wasn't aware it would reveal the location. To prevent this in the future, perhaps be more explicit that the email contains the destination. (subject line or opening line of the email) perhaps with a clear warning such as "STOP HERE UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO SEE YOUR DESTINATION."
Flights
We had requested to be seated together on our flights. We were initially told this would require a $200 upgrade, but upon arriving at the airport, we were able to change our seats for only $45.

Thank you for sharing all of this feedback with us! We take it very seriously + are sharing it with the appropriate teams to make sure this is all noted. We understand the weather was not ideally + do apologize about that, with a lot of states crossed off your list as already visited we try to get you somewhere new with Savannah. We did check with you on airline arrangements + included that you would be staying at a standard hotel within the current budget + you had chosen to stay with your current + move forward that way. The flight costs change every day so we're glad to hear you were able to adjust the seats day of for a cheaper price, which is usually the case if they don't sell out + are able to make those changes day of! Apologies about the email being unclear as well, this has been passed on! Hopefully we can plan another trip for you in the future!

my 4th and least favorite trip with Pack Up & Go
This was my 4th trip with Pack Up & Go, and while past experiences were excellent, this one had a few hiccups. Our envelope arrived just 2 days before departure, and our destination ended up being a 6-hour drive—far too long for a 2-day trip. Despite the usual great customer service and some fun moments, the trip felt exhausting and poorly thought out. It didn’t feel intentionally planned, and I’m hesitant to book again next year….i will say they usually try to get as much bang for your buck minus their fees.

Hi Adaina, we're sorry to hear that this is still your feeling despite our previous efforts to address your concerns privately. We understand your frustration with the drive time and want to assure you that we take your feedback seriously. Our Road Trip standard has been 3-6 hours but understand how a shorter trip would have you wanting a shorter drive time. Hopefully we can make it right in the future but appreciate you sharing this with us.

Disappointing
It was a great concept; my husband and I love being spontaneous and trying new things. We chose to book a trip for our 10-year wedding anniversary. There is a question that asks other places you have lived and traveled but we did not add all the places in Ohio because we live here. We expected to travel out of state since we stated we wanted to try something new and were willing to drive up to 10 hours. We were sent to our home state just two hours away from our house. We did love the stay because they sent us to Hocking Hills, Ohio and we love it there, but we had no idea we should specify we wanted to leave our state. We were up really early because our email told us to leave between 8-9am to make the most of our trip. This made me feel like maybe it would be a 4-6 hour drive so we wanted to leave earlier to explore more. We then found it disappointing that our "pit stop" was an hour out of the way (also somewhere we are familiar with) so we just skipped that. We ended up staying at a resort that offered anniversary packages and couples massages but none of that was booked for our room (the trip was an anniversary trip). I found it disappointing that the planning team did not communicate with us and ask if we were willing to increase our budget. We cancelled the kayaking trip they planned and paid for us because we told them specifically that we love doing that but wanted to try something new (we assumed it was just for them to get to know us). We then booked couples massages and were thankfully able to get them last minute. There was also a fishing pond on property, but we were not told to bring any fishing gear. We specifically made sure to state we loved being outdoors. I don't blame them. It is what it is, but I wouldn't recommend honestly. If you do decide to use them, be sure to be very specific on what you want! The thought of it was so fun but the wow factor ended up being a letdown.

You win some and you lose some
We did a pack up and go about a year and a half ago to Seattle and absolutely loved it! We felt as though everything was well planned, and fit in our budget. This trip seemed to have missed the mark. Over a third of our budget was spent on airline flights and upgrading us And all of the restaurant reservations were $40-$50 a plate which we had to pay. I was hoping for more thought into our trip, but it seemed as though it was put together by how can we spend the most money in the least amount of plans.

We're so glad you had such a great trip with us to Seattle the first time around :) We know it can be difficult seeing a traveler's budget allocation differ from their previous trips with us. Rest assured our trip planners do their best to get the most of out a traveler's budget taking while costs can be influenced by travel dates, season, destination, departing airports, and so many other factors! If you'd like to discuss your budget more, let's hop on a call! I know we've discussed over email, but we can definitely schedule a call to discuss a little deeper :)

Nice getaway with friends
New Orleans!
We had a great time as we knew we would. That being said I think there are things that could have been done better.
If there is a direct flight no matter what airline we should be asked if we want it on a budget airline instead of having a layover. We could have flown across the country to a better weather destination for the time spent not flying direct.
We went on Memorial weekend and for holiday getaways you should reserve flights and hotels sooner especially when we booked our trip back in November since holiday flights and hotels cost more doing it only 30 days out probably left us with less money for other things.
We were booked on 4 walking tours…2 of them in one afternoon that were in the same neighborhood with one having the cemetery and the garden district and the other was beignets with the garden district. We cancelled the second one of that day feeling it was too similar. The other 2 tours during our trip …coffee and killers and the cocktail tour were great!
We had reservations for dinner at 3 restaurants with one being 5 or 5:30 which is too early! Dinners should be around 7 or 7:30 or we should be asked a timeframe of what we prefer. We did change all of our reservations and only went to one original restaurant. I feel like you should make one reservation at a hard to get in restaurant because we can’t get in some places due to trying to reserve the day of or one day ahead including casual places. The list of suggestions for food, drinks, shops and things to do in our package was great to have!
As far as your hints we received 7 days before a couple of them never made sense. You said we needed close toed shoes but we did not. Perhaps comfortable walking shoes would have been a better hint. You said we could be on the water if we wanted and to bring waterproof clothes…again that made no sense. What did we need close toed shoes and waterproof clothing for???
Our hotel was great and had a nice lobby bar and all employees were wonderful!
Overall I enjoyed the trip but wish a few things were planned better and more thought out.

We're so glad you had an overall great trip together, even with the road bumps along the way! With that though, it sounds like we may have dropped the ball a little in regard to some aspects of your trip. If you want to discuss your trip in greater detail i.e. how your budget was allocated, why some activities were booked, your packing list, etc, feel free to email or call us so our Travel Support Coordinators can dive into your trip a little deeper! :)

Exciting, but not quite the trip I imagined
We could not agree on a destination for spring break, and stumbled upon Pack up and Go. We filled out the questionnaire and were excited for the big trip! We set our budget pretty high, I believe the recommended was $900/person and we decided on $1,500/person. We are a family of 5, and had 3 kids ages 9-13 traveling with us. We asked to go somewhere warm, and rated ease of getting around high on our priorities. Our destination ended up being Pensacola Florida. My husband, being retired Navy wasn’t thrilled, and I was disappointed because all our vacations are beach vacations. We were hoping for something different, but maybe we didn’t point that out on the questionnaire. We appreciated the reservations to activities, the dolphin cruise while the Blue Angels practiced was a highlight for the kids. I didn’t go because I get really sea sick on small boats. My husband lived on aircraft carriers for years and now works on an Air Force base so it wasn’t all that exciting to see the jets practice. We were given an $80 uber credit, and we were shocked that the ride from the airport to the hotel was $90, unfortunately being a family of 5 we had to go with the Uber xl option which is more expensive. With it not quite being tourist season, the beach trolly was not operating. There were things we decided not to do/see because getting there would have been too expensive. We had pre booked reservation for dinner at a really nice restaurant and a $100 gift card (the gift card covered half the bill), but again we had to pay $65 in an uber just to get there and another $50 to get back to the hotel. The weather was not cooperative and it was too cold to really enjoy the beach or pools. The hotel was nice, it was a Hilton. There was no complementary breakfast so feeding 3 kiddos breakfast was an unexpected expense (the hotel was charging $15/kid and $25/adult), we did find some more affordable options within walking distance. All in all it was a nice experience, but it ended up being disappointing for all of us for one reason or another. We feel like we could have planned something much better for what we paid.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us about your Pack Up + Go trip! We tried to accommodate your request for a warmer destination which just happened to be a beach location! We do apologize that the destination choice left you with something to be desired, we were hoping the weather would have turned out a bit better in your favor as well. Thank you for the feedback on the pricing of the hotel breakfast, we can see why that would be an unexpected expense and will definitely keep note of that for future reservations. We hope to have another chance to plan a getaway for you in the future to erase any missteps of this one!

Receiving packet in mail a week after returning from trip was not helpful
I liked being able to get out of town and try some things that I would not have done on my own. I did not like that my trip was Jan 12-14 and that I received my packet in the mail on Jan 21. I had basic info from email that allowed me to take the trip, but missed out on a lot of information that was in the mailed packet.
