Thanks for your support and enthusiasm, Beth, and for taking the time to leave us a review😄 We're so glad you're enjoying your Sprinly experience! We love sharing these delicious and healthy meals with you, and we're proud to back it up with exemplary customer service (or, as we call it, Client Happiness!) Just let us know if there is ever anything we can do to help you on your wellness journey!
I completely understand where you're coming from, and you're right in that we're a premium-priced service! There's definitely a reason why though, so I'm happy to share a bit more about our thoughtful process with our meals.
For example, we have a component of our meals called a Pineapple Glaze. While other companies usually add refined sugar as the sweetener for a recipe like a pineapple glaze, we know this results in a spike in one’s blood sugar that leads to issues in our society like diabetes and obesity. Therefore, at Sprinly, we make ours from scratch - instead of adding refined sugars, we source organic pineapples and actually grind them up ourselves to make this sauce. This sweetens our sauce, but more importantly, it adds dietary fiber, which allows your body to process the sugar gradually over many hours. As a result, this lowers the glycemic index of our meals with no sudden spike in one’s blood sugar, making it way more nutritious. Additionally, grinding up fresh organic pineapples for the glaze results in a much fresher taste 👍
Another example would be our Plantballs, which resemble "meatballs" without the meat :) Instead of using ingredients without nutrition like bread crumbs or flour to bind our Plantballs, we actually use superfoods like organic chia and flaxseed to create our own in-house binder.
Both of these examples cost a lot more to do given the expensive ingredients and time it takes to prepare them, but we feel strongly that we have to start with nutrition first with our meals.
While over 95% of us get enough protein, one of the biggest health issues in our country is the fact that less than 5% of us get enough dietary fiber that comes from fruits & vegetables, so we always want to be mindful with our approach to food and nutrition. These are two small examples, but we’ve developed other meals in a similar fashion to develop our meals with honest nutrition first.
We appreciate you!
Kindly,
Rachel
