Therapy Notes is designed by and for mental health. Used another that was more for medical and it was just too difficult to keep working. Love the ease of use, responsiveness to updates and the forum help.

TherapyNotes has been a wonderful addition to my private practice. The automatic calendar reminders have reduced the no-show rates significantly, and most of my clients like getting the text or email reminders for their next appointment. Ease of billing has been another significant factor that has reduced my non-billable office hours significantly, which means I can actually see more clients and spend less time worrying about whether or not I will actually get paid by the insurance companies. Electronic billing to insurance also means I generally get paid a lot faster than when I was doing paper claim submissions. The only con is that while you can import the scheduling calendar into other programs (such as your iphone/ipad calendar apps or Outlook), you cannot export items from these calendars back into TherapyNotes. For me as a therapist with a family with multiple calendar obligations that change frequently , this is a significant issue, but not insurmountable.

I have used this company for a long time now and really like how simple yet expansive their range is. This is great, but a bit expensive. I guess you get what you pay for, and this seems worth it to me.

You should try Therapy Notes. It is for your specialty and makes it easy to get the complete job done. Put the patient information in and you're ready to get started. Do your notes while seeing patient and at the end of the session sign note and submit your claim. It's that easy:)

Thanks for the great review! To make sure this is clear to readers, it is entirely up to the clinician if they want to do their notes during or after their session. We have customers that do both. Some of the therapy intake note may make sense to do during, so you can capture background information, and psychiatrists tend to like to do their notes during sessions. Most psychologists/therapists prefer to do their progress notes after the session. Again - it's up to you!
