I finally pulled the trigger and upgraded my ball head and wow is all I can say! I debated between the larger size or the small travel size as I hope to someday get nice travel legs. I ordered both and ended up keeping the small one. The small size does not mean small results! It held my Canon 5D MIV and Tamron 150-600 with no problems! The larger knobs on the larger head would be nice, but the travel size will be more versatile. and I tried using the small size with winter gloves and no problem. All I can say is I love this ball head!

Thank you for your awesome review! The difference between the two is very subtle and either one will perform equally as well with your setup. The deciding factor is often the tripod. Thank you again and enjoy your new ballhead!

They make one of the best tripod heads on the market. Needed mounts for my cameras. They sent exactly what I was looking for.

I was experiencing some really irritating issues with a well known Ballhead and it was driving me crazy. I was looking for something better and, in the process, came across the Acratech Ballhead videos on YouTube. I was hooked immediately. I wanted one, so I bought one and, I have to say, this thing is even more impressive when you handle it or mount it on your tripod. This thing is precision, beauty and functionality all wrapped up together. Dealing with Acratech is a pleasure. The company is as good as it's product and three days after the transaction my "Little Precious" was sat on my desk. If you live in the UK, as I do, and you have no trading experience with the United States, you should be aware of the significance of carriage fees and Import Duty. These two "extras" will increase the purchase price by close on 50% currently and you must understand that. But, I think it's well worth the outlay.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It is especially helpful for those living in the UK or any country out of the US. The cost varies from country to country. The exchange rate is also something to consider as this change can also affect the end cost. We couldn't be happier to know that you are pleased with your purchase. It often takes just getting it in your hands to have a better understanding of our open ball design. It may be the last ball head you will ever buy. Our heads have been out for almost 20 years and occasionally we will hear from a customer who bought one of the first ballheads we made and they are still using them. Thanks again from all of us at Acratech.

This is not only a great ball head, it's a piece of art. Expert craftsmanship. I used it for the first time yesterday doing some macro work. So smooth and easy to use. Locks easily in place and releases just as easily. Worth the money. Thank you. Todd B. Boise, ID
