Acratech Products
I've been using Acratech ball-heads since 2003. I started with the Ultimate and am now replacing the GV2 (2008) with the long lens head. I went with them originally for the light weight and unique non-jamming ball-head. Both old heads are still going strong on secondary tripods. The quality of their products cannot be beat. The new long lens head is mounted on an Acratech leveling base. (On a RRS TVC-24 tripod.) I tired of having to re-level my camera every time I tweaked a composition, an issue with any ball-head. Now I can easily level the base once and independently adjust the other two axes. This new setup is also great for panoramas, which I shoot quite often in conjunction with an Acratech nodal rail.

Wow, Thank you so much for being a long time, loyal returning customer. Your experience and in depth review means a lot to us. We feel like our customers often take a leap of faith to try something different and when they do, it's like an Aha moment. You have to think outside of the box to bring innovation and that is exactly what Scott did when he developed the first ballhead in 2001. He didn't set out to make a ballhead like the others....he wanted a ball head that would work for his needs and no ball head on the market fit those needs. Owning a machine shop seems like a drag but it really comes in handy when you decide you want to reinvent a wheel.

Only complain I have that there seems to be no means of logging out, at least I could not find one. Everything else is very good, placing orders, phone support and speedy delivery.

Long Lens Tripod Head
I’ve only used the Long Lens Head for about a month now and I’m satisfied. It supports my Pentax body and D FA 450 with teleconvert just fine.

Prompt order processes
Prompt order acknowledgement, shipment & new products received as advertised! Few companies match Acratech's quality products paired with quality customer service! Must be a reflection of superior management quality.
