ERIC'S ORIGINAL POST
First off, I wish that this program did more with account receivable management. It would be nice to have an aging (30, 60, 90 day past due) feature available.
Secondly, I feel duped into having to accept credit card payments for all my customers costing me almost 3% loss in gross income. And when you raise your prices to compensate for the 3%, then the customer is unhappy.
I will be searching for a new billing software provider during the offseason.

Wow, Eric, You got it all wrong. Accepting credit cards is 110% voluntary. If you didn't want to pay the credit card processing fees, why did you sign up for a merchant account? You can close the account at any time and it will not cost you a dime. I don't know why you feel duped. Any business expert will tell you accepting credit cards and electronic payments is a smart business move, but no one here, or at Fortis Pay has forced or coerced you into making that move. The rates we have negotiated 2.89% +$.30/transaction are the lowest in the industry and we proudly display these rates. There are no other hidden fees. We're proud of that.
The 30, 60,90 aging. This refers to accrual basis accounting. Our software uses Cash basis accounting which is much more flexible and easier to use and learn. Most small businesses prefer and use cash basis accounting, mainly due to the ease of editing the data.

First off, I wish that this program did more with account receivable management. It would be nice to have an aging (30, 60, 90 day past due) feature available. It is very difficult to see who has not paid their invoice in a timely manner. We need to know who to stop servicing once they are past due and I have not found an easy way to discern this information.
Secondly, I feel duped into having to accept credit card payments for all my customers costing me almost 3% loss in gross income. And when you raise your prices to compensate for the 3%, then the customer is unhappy. I was not aware that it was not an All or Nothing scenario. I didn't really want to offer it to everybody, just a select few. So that is why I enrolled into the credit card processing system. I wish that where would be a way to manually decide who's invoice has the how to pay with credit card info on it. It should be easy to do. But Adkad is probably getting 1/4 of a percent of all the transactions processed (ie a kickback), so I do not expect that option to be available any time soon.
I will be searching for a new billing software provider during the offseason.

Sorry Eric, but you are wrong about the option to select which customers get the CC payment link. When you click the Email and Print button, an option box appears where you can uncheck the "Include Pay Link" option. Disabling the link will eliminate the payment link in the email footer, and or, on the printed invoice. This will leave your customer with a check, or cash only option of payment. We are adding integrated ACH payments in the soon to be released series 8 software which will cost less than 1% which will help your bottom line. We have also added new features to the Current Balances screen which will now show Last Payment Date and Days Since Last Payment. This new feature should help you determine which customers to stop servicing if the current, (Determine Late Paying Customers feature), is not working for you. In the interest of full disclosure here, yes, we do get a kick-back. It is actually about 1/4 of 1/4 of a percent, (.000282 to be precise or 2.8 cents per $100). We need to pay support staff and keep the lights on, and every little bit helps. We have been around for over 20 years, and I hope you would want us to continue to survive to service the thousands of businesses like yours. I hope this new information will sway your decision to not jump ship, and change the 1-star rating you gave us to a higher number. In any event, the best of luck, and we wish you and your business prosperity for years to come.
