Once a carrier is confirmed, we will contact you with the updated information. As per our records, we also spoke with you on 8/13 and again on 8/17 to provide you with updates regarding the status of your shipment. As stated in the Terms and Conditions you signed at the time of booking, all pickup and delivery dates and times are estimated and are not guaranteed. We sincerely apologize for the stress and confusion you experienced during your vehicle transport. On 12/22, you advised us that you wanted to change your drop-off date to 12/30, and we immediately notified the port of the updated schedule. We regret that this adjustment still caused some inconvenience upon arrival. Regarding the delivery, we apologize for the confusion about the meeting location with the driver. The carrier should have been clearer about where he intended to meet you, and we understand how this added to your frustration. We always strive to provide door-to-door delivery; however, in certain circumstances, the carrier may need to ask the customer to meet them at a safe and legal location. As outlined in our Terms of Agreement, if pickup or delivery at the agreed-upon location is impossible or impracticable due to weight restrictions, low trees, small roads, or other obstacles, customers may be asked to meet the driver for loading or unloading. We understand that this experience was stressful, and we are truly sorry that the service did not meet your expectations.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration it caused. We understand how important your shipment was and how stressful it felt not having a clear delivery timeline. However, we do believe it is important to manage expectations. You requested your vehicle to be transported from Houston, Texas, to Fairbanks, Alaska. The distance alone is over 4,000 miles. To make matters more complex, it is not a straight drive by one carrier on the roadway. Shipments to Alaska need to traverse the Pacific Ocean to arrive in the Gulf of Alaska, which turns it into a three-leg journey accomplished by three separate carriers, one being a ship. The graphic displayed on our website gives our customers more information on how long they can expect a shipment to take. The starting estimate on travel time for your distance is 16-17 days. This is significantly longer than the 10 days you estimated on your own. From there, carriers may be forced to delay through no fault of their own due to issues that arise such as rough seas, inclement weather, and road closures. Also, once the vehicle arrives at the port in Anchorage, scheduling the final leg of transport depends on carrier availability, which is why delays sometimes occur. All dates and times given are always estimates, and while the overall process usually goes smoothly, there can occasionally be longer hold times at the port before the vehicle is released to a carrier. With that being said, we do acknowledge that your vehicle was delayed and arrived for pickup later than estimated. We at Alaska Car Transport did work tirelessly to locate carriers and coordinate with them to minimize delays as much as possible. We do regret that the communication with you did not meet your expectations.

As stated in our terms, all dates and times are estimates, as carriers can experience unforeseen delays, especially during this time of year with weather conditions. Initially, your vehicle was assigned to a carrier with an estimated delivery date of 2/17. However, due to unexpected truck issues, that carrier had to cancel. A new carrier was then assigned, and your vehicle was picked up on 2/14. The current estimated delivery date is 2/19. As of now, the carrier is in Hermiston, OR. We understand your frustration and regret the delays. While unforeseen issues can impact transit times, we are actively monitoring your shipment and ensuring it stays on track for the updated estimated delivery of 2/19.
