Great conversation with Kris. Great advice about just getting started. What to buy. Explaining the difference between mining as a hobby and mining as a business.

I spoke with someone in chat to help with some troubleshooting issues, and replacement hardware. They replied quickly, was very informative, and helped solve all my issues; all while educating me in the process and pointing me in the right direction for the new parts i needed to get my hardware back to 100%

I bought a Bitmain S21 Pro from Altair. It arrived dead on arrival — fans spin, LEDs on, but it never connects to the network or pulls an IP. I did all troubleshooting and documented everything. Altair advertises a 14-day warranty, but when I asked for help they refused to replace or handle the DOA unit. Their final response was: “It is Bitmain’s warranty… We cannot replace the unit or contact them for you.” Bitmain has not responded to any RMA requests, leaving me stuck with a $4,188 defective miner and no support from either party. If your unit arrives defective, be aware you may receive no real after-sale help from Altair.

The product never worked. On top of the price of the product, I paid shipping plus customs. Now they ask me to cover the return cost for a defective product. They will then decide if I am elegible for a refund or not. Not acceptable. Avoid buying here.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience with the defective product. We take product quality seriously and do burn-in testing on every Bitaxe we ship. Per our return policy, buyers are responsible for return shipping costs for any defective items, which is outlined in our terms of service. Once the item is received and inspected, we’ll promptly process a repair or replacement free or charge and cover the cost of return shipping. Best regards, AltairTech Customer Support Team
