Thank you for reaching out with your feedback! We are sorry to hear that you were not familiar with ESA and PSA regulations. We are very thorough, as a company, in explaining your options. As is clearly stated on our website, Emotional Support Animals ONLY have legal housing rights. If you would like to fly with your ESA, that allowance is determined by the individual airline carrier of your choice. Psychiatric Service Animals, however, have legal housing, public access, and travel rights.
What's the difference? While an Emotional Support Animal has no specific training requirements, a Psychiatric Service Animal must be trained to mitigate at least one symptom of your qualifying mental health disability. If your animal is already trained to do this, great! If not, we offer a monthly subscription to our professionally taught, virtual, self-paced 'I Train Academy' program. The program is optional and you must choose to participate during the check-out process if you so wish!
The only yearly fee is renewal, should you choose that. Though not mandated by ASP, most housing authorities and agents of travel (airlines, railway operators, bus services etc) required an ESA/PSA letter to be dated within the last 12 months as proof of validity and continued evaluation by a licensed healthcare provider.
You can reach our team directly during normal business hours at 877-201-2755 for further assistance and are always happy to help before, during, and after the application process. 🐾❤️
