What does free mean. Here in america terms, it means I pay nothing its free. I later found out the hard way this company is operating off of China time but here in usa. They supposedly give 2yesrs free upgrades, they dont explain what that mean. So ima let tou know now. This come charges $400 a year to update your scanner after the 2yrs, during the 2yrs you will come across some car tou can do much with. No the free is not free. It cost $60 per automaker that this applies to the company is not paying those fee tou will have to. See how the free 2yrs ain't really free, tou have to pay another $180 to read more cars. If you found a better scanner share it with us here, not and tou have to pay the $400 upgrade fee. Good luck. Earlier I said they work off china time, that means China holidays which we have no idea what they are. So oct 2nd i place the order for the update next day I got an email saying we are out from the oct 2nd to 7th holiday. I'm lost there is no holiday. Thats when i found about they are not on USA time. I canceled and order on the 6th, next was the 7th i got email saying my order will be process on the 8th. Another email saying process on the 8th and then 1-3 business day to complete. On here trustpilot.com going back and forth with this company it was the worse services I ever dealt with and wish I had kept my launch scanner. Fast forward oct the 13th I get email after going back and forth for days with this company. They dropped the ball again and didnt say anything about the scanner is update. The email on the 13th says tour prolong scanner is ready for update until Oct 12 2027. They forgot to email me yesterday. I'm like wow, so I could did all my updating yesterday. Then the scanner didnt want to update. They telling me something that want it. I asked Gemini and it was finally working from the instructions from Gemini. Like how you don't know how to work the scanner tou made. Long story short save yourself the time, money, headache, and stress. Get a different scanner ancel isn't it. Infact the couple of people I did get them to get ancel they returned it as soon as they seen it cost another $199 is what ancel is trhna charge, but go to autoauth is only $60 per car if tou want all 3 then pay $180. This company tryna rip you off saying $199. Stay away and do better with a much better service and scanner. Snap-on is honestly pretty good, and do a lot more. Update its about 5 days after they claim my scanner is good to go. Still no updates are working, I paid autoauth and its saying my scanner is still inactive that ancel needs to fix there end. Nightmare dealing with this company. Asking if I would like a refund for the time it wasn't working, how you gonna try and fix that when you haven't even fixed my scanner yet. It's days later wait no the 6th is when I paid for the 2nd time and yet nothing that's 11 days ago now. I have contacted several time. Guess what they are on another break.

Hi JOHN, We sincerely apologize for the frustration and the delay you have experienced. We hear your concerns and want to address them clearly. Regarding your order processing: Today is Monday, and our customer service team is actively pushing to expedite the progress for you. We absolutely do not intend to delay our responses or keep you waiting. As we previously explained, the processing times stated on our website do not include weekends or holidays. Our representative, Pern, did inform you in advance that your upgrade order would only be processed after the holiday ended on the 7th. However, we must apologize because the relevant department unexpectedly remained closed for an additional two days, which unfortunately disrupted the workflow. Regarding the $199 FCA charge: We need to clarify that FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) authentication is a secure gateway set by the vehicle manufacturer, not by our scanner. This fee is controlled entirely by the automaker’s system to unlock the gateway for certain vehicle functions. It has nothing to do with ANCEL’s hardware or our 2-year free update policy. Regarding upgrades and compatibility: Please note that renewing or upgrading your device is completely optional. Your device will continue to work perfectly fine without renewing. However, if you choose to renew for newer vehicle coverage, we highly recommend providing your detailed vehicle information and specific function requirements beforehand so we can confirm compatibility and ensure you don't pay for features that may be restricted by the carmaker's gateway (like the FCA issue). Our support team will continue to assist you throughout this process. If it turns out that the device is truly incompatible with your vehicle needs, we are willing to offer you a full refund. We want to make this right for you. Thank you for your patience. — The Ancel Team

The overall experience is excellent. The tool itself seems to do the job that some of my other scanners do at a much lower cost. I would like to see the tool incorporate the topology that some of my other tools have. Thanks Peter Holdsworth

I ordered the HD 3400 pro for our Peterbuilt 2012 with a PX 8 paccar. Hook her up and did what I wanted to do checking engine faults and read outs. Great unit.

I recently ordered the BD500. I am located in Europe and I decide to order from Ancel as they promote they ship from local European warehouse within 1-3 business days. This was very important for me once for ecological, time and also import cost reasons. As soon as I received the shipping information I saw it was ship from HK. Not only took the shipment more than a 10 days Fedex also charged me €19,49 for customs, taxes and service. Ancel already charged me with €11.95 for shipping. If I would have know this, I would have ordered somewhere else. The product itself works fine. Update Oct. 6, 2026: ANCEL Support contacted me an explained the process. The part ships automatically from HK if the European warehouse is out of stock. They understand my frustration about the automatic part and granted the refund of the additional import costs. Even if I am frustrated about the process I am really happy about the support mentality. When something goes unexpected, own it and solve it asap. I really appreciate that. Thanks a lot.
