About BackUnbroken
BackUnbroken is an online program designed to overcome chronic back pain by addressing the root cause - how the nervous system processes pain. Founded by Dr. Nate Feehrer, who overcame years of back pain himself, the program blends neuroscience, movement, and mindset to guide you through a proven step-by-step recovery process. It’s not about temporary relief. It’s about retraining your brain and body to move without fear or pain, so you can get back to living your life. There are no pills, no surgeries, and no endless therapy sessions. You don’t need special equipment or a gym. Everything is laid out in simple, progressive lessons you can do at home, at your own pace. Whether you've dealt with herniated discs, sciatica, or general back pain that never seems to go away, BackUnbroken offers a fresh, science-backed approach that actually works.Thousands have used this method to walk, lift, and live pain-free again - often after years of frustration with traditional treatments. If you’re ready to stop chasing symptoms and start rebuilding from the inside out, BackUnbroken can help you reclaim control and confidence in your body.

I found myself in a bad way after going from physio to physio, to specialist, multiple MRIs with everyone telling me I shouldn't have the pain I was experiencing. The frustrating thing for me is I'm a PT myself, so I understood the body and mechanics and had read about the brain-pain connection but didn't realise I was now living it. I started with the free trial, and realised very quickly this program was different. The indepth nature at the start focusing on the physiology of pain and understanding it at a deeper level was awesome. From there the progressions were clear. The team were highly responsive to any questions I had and I felt supported the whole time. If you are going around in circles and living with chronic pain then I highly recommend this program.

Pain free thanks to Back Unbroken
This program saved my back and sanity! I combined it with mobility and reading The Way Out and after 5 months I was virtually pain free. This is after having back and hip pain for almost 10 years. Sometimes my neuroplastic pain comes back, but using the practices I learned in Back Unbroken, I am able to calm the pain down quickly.

If you feel like you’ve tried everything for your chronic pain, don’t give up until you Read This. Regain your confidence, rewire your brain, and get back to doing the things you love!
I can’t recommend BackUnbroken enough. After dealing with chronic low back pain for years, I had become afraid of certain movements and was constantly changing how I moved or avoiding things altogether to protect my back.
What made BackUnbroken different was the combination of physically retraining and strengthening my back while also addressing the brain and nervous system side of chronic pain. I didn’t just need to get stronger, I needed to teach my body that movement was safe again.
Over time, I stopped guarding my back, stopped fearing certain movements, and started trusting my body again. Today my back feels stronger than it ever has. I’m back to playing basketball, golfing, lifting, and doing everyday activities pain free without constantly thinking about what might hurt my back.
BackUnbroken helped me become stronger and more resilient physically, while also giving me the confidence to move freely again. That combination has been a game changer for me.

Life Changing
Life Changing
I started doing this program in July 2025. I unsubscribed in December of 2025 but have continued to do all the exercises and techniques taught in the course. Before this program, I had been dealing with lower back pain for about 3 years on a daily basis resulting from a mild disc herniation. I had seen 4 separate doctors and physical therapist who had all recommended different things including back surgery. As a 24 year old I was very concerned this would turn into a life sentence of pain. I happened to find this program on Instagram and figured I would give it a try.
It took me about 2-3 months to start more consistently seeing results and being able to get into a workout routine. Beyond the actual physical exercises, this program was a huge mental motivator. Prior to this, I would stop working out anytime I felt back pain thinking it would hurt me further. However, thanks to this program I learned that back pain doesn’t necessarily correlate to injury. My flare ups have reduced dramatically and the daily pain is mostly gone or at least to the point where I don’t notice it at all. I used to flare up at least every other week. Now its more like every other month. A year later I am able to workout, play basketball, swim, and run without needing to consistently worry about hurting myself.
I strongly recommend this program to anyone who has dealt with chronic back pain. The results may not come immediately but sticking to the exercises will surely yield results. Additionally, as mentioned before, the mental aspect of chronic pain is understated in medicine today. I’m really grateful to Nate and the team for their help and support and their words of encouragement throughout the program!

The program is extremely helpful
The program is extremely helpful and informative. I love that I could learn everything about chronic pain and understand what can I do to get better after my back injury. After finishing the program I was able to be back to the gym and workout without pain during or after the training. I also noticed the reasons why the pain would come back every now and then, and realised that most of the time is overworking, lack of sleep or too much too soon. Now I treat the pain as a reminder to slow down and make sure I rest well and prioritise recovery, rather than something scary and worrying. It helps lot. Thank you Nate

This is the best pain-science education…
This is the best pain-science education I've found in years of searching!
Dr. Nate does an incredible job of laying out all of the information super clearly, summarizing all the latest research in pain science.
Recent developments in understanding of "neuroplastic pain" / mindbody symptoms are missing from so much of the modern conversations around pain, but Dr. Nate incorporates those aspects alongside the physical aspects very well.
He empowers you to move your body again and even to develop your own movements that help bridge the gap towards whatever movements or sports you've felt limited in and want to get back to.
It's truly an empowering course and one I recommend to everyone I encounter who is dealing with chronic pain.

For the first time in a long time, I genuinly believe that a pain-free, active life is possible again!
After struggling with chronic lower back pain for more than 1.5 years, I had almost accepted that this was something I would have to live with.
My diagnosis was L5-S1 disc degeneration with reduced core stability and weakness in my glutes. Every morning I woke up with pain and stiffness. Simple things like putting on my socks or shoes became a challenge, and I had developed countless workarounds. I had stopped running, reduced my strength training, and even everyday movements like bending over or gardening made me think twice.
Before finding Back Unbroken, I tried physiotherapy, spinal manipulation, home exercise programmes, and yoga. Some of these helped temporarily, but the pain always came back. More importantly, I gradually lost confidence in my body.
I have now finished the Back Unbroken programme, and the difference has been remarkable.
The biggest change isn't just that my pain has decreased, although it definitely has. The biggest change is my understanding of pain and my confidence in movement. Learning that pain doesn't necessarily equal damage completely changed my mindset. Instead of protecting my back all day, I'm learning to trust it again.
The improvements in daily life have been huge. I can put on my socks without pain again, bend down to pick things up, work in the garden, and there are now long stretches of the afternoon where I don't even think about my back anymore. That may sound small, but after living with constant pain awareness, it feels life-changing.
What I appreciate most is that this programme doesn't just hand you exercises. It teaches you why you're doing them and helps you rebuild confidence step by step.
I know I still have work to do, but for the first time in a long time, I genuinely believe that a pain-free, active life is possible again. For me, that hope alone has been incredibly valuable.

The mental and educational side of the…
The mental and educational side of the program was a game-changer for me. Understanding the connection between stress and physical pain shifted something in my brain. I stopped seeing pain as this scary, mysterious enemy and started seeing it as something I could actually understand and work with. That shift alone changed everything.
Physically, my back has improved more than I expected. But honestly, the bigger win has been mentally — my stress levels are lower, I feel more in control, and I approach discomfort (physical or otherwise) with so much more calm than before.
If you’re on the fence, know this: this program works on your body and your mind, and that combination is what actually creates lasting change. Grateful I found it.

Thanks for sharing! And yes, it is hard for people who have not been through chronic pain to understand how much it weighs on us mentally. So excited for you that you have finally broken the cycle and on your way to a full recovery!
