About Badlands Ranch
Founded by actress and animal activist Katherine Heigl, we create products made with some of the healthiest foods on Earth — like premium, hearty beef from suppliers who care about the humane treatment of animals, as well as hand-selected superfoods for canine health. We also make it a priority to employ safe, responsible cooking practices by slow-cooking and air-drying our dog food to ensure maximum freshness and nutritional content. It’s all the good stuff your dog needs to thrive, with none of the bad. Named for her ranch in Utah where the Heigl Family rescues animals, Badlands Ranch stands for treating every dog with love and respect. That’s why it is a proud sponsor of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation and its rescue efforts, medical care, obedience training, and placement of dogs in happy, loving homes. With every purchase of a Badlands Ranch product, you’re not just helping your dog achieve a healthier life… you’re helping another dog in need find a forever home.

my wife and I have been rescuing retired racing Greyhounds for 18 years. We struggled for years to find the right food for them. We've used all the name brands and not until we tried Badlands did we see a big difference in their energy, coat and over all activity. They eat it each meal like it's doggy crack and can't wait until dinner time. We took the Nestea plunge and BINGO. Thank you for your hard work in providing a quality dog food.

Mollie
Maggie and Mollie, both 3 years old were inseparable since they were puppies. Last January, we found out Maggie had cancer in her mouth. We tried everything we could but the tumor just kept growing back, so we made the decision to send her over the rainbow bridge. Mollie became very depressed, wouldn't eat, play or even show any sign of happiness. She started loosing weight and the vet had me try all kinds of encouragement even prescription food. Nothing worked and she was getting more depressed. We decided to get a rescue dog, Sophie, hoping another playmate would help. At first she was excited, but Sophie was shy and nervous and didn't want to play, so Mollie once again stopped eating and playing. I saw the ad for Badlands and watched the video. At first I thought it was very expensive and didn't want to waste my money, but being a loving pet owner, I was at my wits end trying to help Mollie. From the very first time I used it, Mollie ate ALL her food in one sitting. I couldn't believe just a small sprinkling of the kibble would entice her to eat her entire bowl of food. That little bag lasted almost 2 months. Mollie is back to her old self, she eats all her food every time. At her last vet visit, she gained back 2 of the 3 pounds she lost. She only weighs 27 pounds so each pound is crucial. She finally finished the bag and I'm going to see over the next month how she does. Buying only 1 bag was worth the money if she stays healthy, but I know if I need to buy more I will not hesitate. Thank you Kathrine for a life saving product. I really can't thank you enough for helping to get my Mollie healthy again. Donna Babchuck

FOOD IS EXCELLENT, too pricey!
THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT, my 2 pups love it. However, if your aim is to make superior nutrition available to as many pets as reasonably possible, I would STRONGLY recommend that you make your prices more affordable. I know that your charity is funded by the sale of your food, and that is commendable. But, I would assume that you make a profit too (as is only right). How much (percentages) of a profit you personally make is not known. To be frank, your are a MAJOR MOVIE STAR (I'm a huge fan) and I can only assume that your family has MORE THAN ENOUGH money to live comfortably. My Husband and I live (very comfortably) on 150,000.00 a year. We live in a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath home in one of the 5 o'clock news' best San Antonio neighborhoods." We travel occasionally and drive a very nice Mazda CX5. We give (automatic bank withdrawels) to Pets For Vets, Shriner's Hospital, ASPCA Wounded Warriors and about 1,000.00 a year in goods (food, leashes, kitty litter, pet baby bottles, formula clothing-much of it with the tags still attached; to our local Humane Society! Surely You can afford to make less personal profit without reducing the quality of the food, or the contribution to your charity, let your conscience be your guide. Personally it IS a financial Sacrifice to feed your food ($$$) to my 2 babies but I am willing to give up some things in order to give my babies the best- after all, it IS about ones love of pets, right?

Endorsed by Isla!
My terrier mix rescue Isla loves the food. My vet told me that she needed to lose weight and she lost nearly a pound in a few months. She can be a picky eater and gobbles this food. It's also very convenient to take on the road. Thank you for creating such a great product!

My 2 years old puppy
My 2 years old puppy, Lizzie, was a difficult eater for as long as she has been with me. I would cook for her more than I did for myself (chicken, salmon, eggs, rice, sweet potatoes, string beans) to add to her kibble.
I am a widow on a set income, so when I saw the price of the Badlands Ranch food, I decided to try it and mix it with her kibble (Lizzie does not wet dog food). She loved the new mixture, and because she is a small dog, I break up some of the harder pieces.
I know Liz is a happy dog because she finally has normal healthy poops!

My dog is young so it is hard to tell…
My dog is young so it is hard to tell if it gives more energy but way less itching! He loves it so much too and really licks the bowl! It actually smells like food. I wish there was better communication on when the rest of my order is coming. I ordered a subscription I’m down to my last bag and I don’t have any information when the next bag is coming
