I am generally very statisfy with BambooHR as it is a very convenient and easy-to-use/intuitive (also for the employees) all around HR system.
However, the European users are not really taken into account in the upgrades, and some of them are actually conter-productive for such users.

Great Easy-to use HR Tool
BambooHR is a great HR tool that is easy to use and makes HR processes much more efficient. I especially love its self-service features, which allow employees to update their personal information, apply for and track leave, and access important documents whenever they need them.
The recruitment module is another standout feature. It makes it easy to track candidates through every stage of the hiring process—from posting a job to extending an offer.
Overall, BambooHR is a reliable, user-friendly, and well-rounded HR system that I would highly recommend.

Stay far away from this company
Stay far away from this company. Onboarding was the only good experience but we can't wait to get off this platform.
The system is not very flexible, and the time and attendance module is horrendous. The time clocks we purchased never worked since day one and they won't take them back! We have tried numerous times to get support and they simply are non-responsive. One day, the entire support staff was out of the office!

BambooHR is one of the most friendly support platforms and organizations
BambooHR is one of the most customizable, user-friendly, and admin-friendly platforms I've ever used. It is truly intuitive and allows so many layers of organizational support to be managed in a single platform. I really value BambooHR's mindset of continuous improvement, which shows in how they implement feedback and actively listen to customers to ensure features meet their needs. They also have wonderful customer service representatives!

They'll send you to "debt collections" if you try to stop using their mediocre platform
Don't be fooled by the friendly onboarding. We were on a month-to-month BambooHR plan. When we decided to stop using it because the software limitations required complex workarounds for basic functionality we needed.
We could not find a clear self-service cancellation option in the dashboard, so we'd have to contact someone and presumably go through a cancellation process – more like a gym membership than a respectable SaaS subscription in 2026.
Instead, I removed the payment card. We assumed the account would simply lapse, especially once access was suspended and we were no longer logging in or receiving any service from it.
On 13 April, BambooHR told us in writing that the account was pending cancellation. On 16 April, they confirmed that it would be cancelled by 20 April if payment was not received. Despite that, they still issued another $425 monthly invoice on 20 April, the exact date they had said the account would be cancelled. They later sent both invoices, totalling $850, to a collection agency.
When I asked BambooHR to explain the contradiction, they said there had been a cancellation option somewhere in the account settings, closed the support case and told us to deal with the collector.
If you use BambooHR month to month, take screenshots and document every cancellation step. Do not assume that removing your card, losing access or receiving written notice of pending cancellation means they have stopped billing. This has caused needless stress for us and whoever is in charge of these hostile practices should find another career.
This is the type of business I really don't mind AI replacing, with a superior alternative vibe-coded in a weekend. I wish them bankruptcy in the next few years or sooner, for these hostile business practices, in favour of better alternatives that don't send their churned customers to a debt collection agency.
