Reply from Bar Codes TalkJan 22, 2020
In the interest of full disclosure:
We spoke on the phone yesterday afternoon briefly and established that you were having a known Amazon branding-error when using some of the barcodes that you purchased from us in October 2019.
In that phone call, we were able to clarify the exact error message you were receiving and verify that the reason for the error was because of a special requirement Amazon has ONLY for Brand-Registry accounts. It’s important to point out that the vast majority of Amazon sellers (nearly 99%) do not have this requirement and can list items normally.
It’s also important to note that our site expressly states that our barcodes will not work for Amazon’s “Brand-Registry seller program” - we communicate this in multiple places on our site, anywhere Amazon is mentioned, including our terms-of-service, our signature “Works-for-Amazon Guarantee” as well as in the “Amazon Support” section of our website.
We attempted to provide you with two solutions and you found neither agreeable. You then demanded a refund, provided immediately, and told me otherwise, there would be “sooo many negative reviews coming” It was explained that our company policy is to not provide refunds on digital products. Once a GTIN is issued it cannot be returned without jeopardizing the integrity of our database and the trust that our clients have that each new barcode they purchase, is, in fact, new, never issued to anyone.
At this point, Ainsley hung up on our service rep and did not return any emails sent to follow up and help resolve the matter further.
We have tried to reach out to Ainsley multiple times to let him know that under certain circumstances, and on a case-by-case basis, we do provide exceptions to the “no refunds on digital items” policy - we were trying to inform him that upon further inspection into the details of his case we were able to provide a goodwill refund (in the interest of our customer’s privacy we will not disclose the particular reasoning in this case publicly).
We then emailed Ainsley to inform him that we would be refunding his money and asked that he at the very least update his review to reflect that, to which he replied: “HELLLLLLLLLLL NO”.
