Hi Dan - We do apologize about this. We state that it is the customer's responsibility to find out what is legal and what is illegal in their country. It is impossible for us to keep up to date on the latest products that are illegal in every country we ship to. Even if we did have a list, we wouldn't be able to keep up with all the changes to every country, especially with brand new products, like the one you ordered.
We are currently redesigning our website, and this is what I am going to attempt to do. I am going to try to find a resource for illegal products for the countries we ship to (though there will be over 100+ countries). Then when you checkout there will be a link to that resource based on the country you choose for shipping. Have to see if I can find a developer that can make that happen.
While we will still leave it up to the customer in the end, we can at least try to assist them. I hope this helps.
Update: We updated the information on our site after you informed us about the issue yesterday. If something is confusing to customers on our website, we make sure to update that information. We were not trying to hide it, we were just updating this for future orders. As I mentioned above, with our new site I am going to try to do what I can to make it more clear on what products are legal and illegal in countries. Because we will have 100+ countries, this will be a large project. Once that is completed, I will be updating that section once again. I hope this makes sense.
Here is the information that was previously there:
Based on the laws of your country, some items may not be available for shipping to your country. This will be indicated when you try to add a given item to your cart, you will see a message stating it is unavailable to your country. We do our best to stay up to date with the laws and regulations with each country we ship to. While we do our best to stay on top of customs laws in most major shipping destinations, we cannot guarantee that our restricted items list is always up to date. Therefore, it is ultimately your responsibility to check if the products you have ordered are allowed in your country before you order. If your package is stopped by customs and returned to us, we can give you a full refund minus shipping and return shipping (if applicable) costs when we receive the package back. Unfortunately if your package is seized and destroyed we're not able to offer a refund.
