I love the therapist I’ve had for the last couple months. She has been nothing but helpful and supportive. The only downfall of BetterHelp is how expensive it can be. Especially as a college student in a pandemic, that’s been stressful, so I had to decide to leave.

I enjoy the app but find the cost is a bit too high, maybe even unreasonable. I value my mental health more than money for sure, and while money isn’t everything, having it helps. It is likely just me, but the billing cycle seems to be too frequent; as if I’m being perpetually billed twice everyone for the next month. Further to this point, my Girlfriend and I have separate Therapists and her BetterHelp costs are almost half as expensive as mine.

Counselors MIGHT be available to text chat, but due to reviews that isn't very often and not much likely.. Sketchy, sketchy terms of service. Don't like what I saw and don't love that they can sell your info.

I wanted to share my experience using betterhelp for everyone considering using this service. I recently really hit a very low personal point in my life. I wanted to talk to someone as this was keeping me up at night and making me constantly tired in the day. I searched for a service that was available 24 hours and found betterhelp. I signed up to this but I was told I would have to wait 24-48 hours to speak to someone. I really thought given this is a service to improve mental health that someone would be immediately available. I was disappointed. After reconsidering the price and that my job may be at risk of redundancy, I cancelled my subscription. To be clear, I hadn't spoken to anyone and cancelled my subscription... I was still charged £140 for a service I didnn't use! Considering this is a service to imrpove mental health and tackle issues such as handling stress, I was VERY disappointed and frustrated. I dont think it is fair that this expense didn't help me and still took my money. I'm still stressed and now have additional anxiety over the cost of this service that I didnt use. I dont recommend this service at all. I was robbed before I even started and have additional financial and mental stress because of betterhelp. UPDATE: Although I didn't use the service, since posting my review I was fully refunded hassle free. Thank you.

Just posted a counselor or Therapist review and as stated there it's too early to tell.

The counselor I was matched with (Jenna Meeks) was awesome, and the webinars were very useful, but the platform itself left a bit to be desired. We had technical issues of some kind every session.

There were loads of glitches and technical issues that caused some of my sessions to be unsuccessful. My therapist was great, and I appreciate the connection through betterhelp.

I’ve tried a couple of BetterHelp therapists and while the therapists have always been lovely, the time difference made it worthless. If you’re not in America, you’re lucky to get more than one (often short) message a day, and that really doesn’t allow you to work through your problems. However, BetterHelp gave me a full refund when I realised the time difference was too much of an issue, so I can’t fault their customer service.
