Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear that your expectations weren’t met and appreciate the opportunity to respond with clarity and care.
First, we want to be clear here: Better U is not a pharmacy. We are a mental health clinic offering both telemedicine and in-person care: including holistic psychiatry, talk therapy, and ketamine therapy (in-person and at-home). For at-home treatments, our licensed providers send prescriptions to independent compounding pharmacies. We are not affiliated with or profiting from any specific pharmacy.
That said, you are absolutely welcome to use any compounding pharmacy you prefer. If you’d like your prescription filled locally, we’ll gladly send it there. Our clinical team has worked with hundreds of pharmacies across the country, and based on consistency, quality, third-party testing, and patient feedback, we typically recommend Precision (NY) and Valor (CA): both of which ship nationally with rigorous SOP's and flavor/stability customization.
You’re right that every compounding pharmacy can vary slightly in how medications are compounded, including factors like pH balance and binders. These differences can absolutely affect the patient experience, which is why we remain committed to helping patients navigate those nuances with transparency and flexibility.
We also want to clarify that we submitted a request through Trustpilot for more information so that we can locate your account and address this directly with you. Since the review you posted was anonymous, we aren’t always able to identify the your information or contact you without your help. If you're willing, we’d appreciate the opportunity to work with you to remedy this situation.
We take the storage and shipping of medications seriously and follow up and advocate for you with the pharmacies when concerns arise. While we rely on these third-party pharmacies to manage packaging, shipping, and FDA-compliant storage protocols, we will always advocate for our patients and act when we believe a batch or delivery method may need review.
In addition to pharmacies, FedEx or UPS may from time to time have delays - weather, etc. as anyone who has shipped or received a package from both understand. As we cannot control this, we also will advocate on your behalf if any of those issues arise.
We're especially sorry to hear that a member of our team was disrespectful: that is not acceptable and will be addressed internally. If you could please share your information or contact our office and ask for Thea or Michael, we will address this and make sure this is properly addressed. Our entire mission is based on patient-first care, and it pains us to hear that this wasn’t your experience.
If you’re open to continuing the conversation, we would be glad to work with you on:
Sending future prescriptions to a local pharmacy of your choice,
Adjusting dosage or formulation under clinical supervision,
Reviewing your treatment history to better tailor your plan moving forward,
Better U exists because traditional mental healthcare has let too many people down. We’re trying to change that, but we know we’re not perfect. If you’re still willing, we’d like the chance to make this right, not just for you, but for the integrity of the mission we believe in.
Sincerely,
The Better U Care Team
