Sometimes it helps topically. I get a reaction in my throat when I take it orally. Irritates my throat and makes me cough.

Hi Kathleen! That feeling in your throat that is making you cough is caused by one of the naturally occurring terpenes in our product - beta-caryophyllene (BCP). In addition to cannabis, it is most abundantly found in herbs and spices like basil, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, hops, and oregano. It is one of the rare terpenes that directly activates the cannabinoid receptors - CB2 to be precise. Given the unique action of this terpene, the therapeutic uses of beta-caryophyllene (BCP) are very broad. The most notable is beta-caryophyllene’s ability to act as a potent anti-inflammatory via the CB2 receptors. However, BCP also has the ability to reduce pain and inflammation through other mechanisms, which can be of great benefit in inflammatory, immunologic, and neurological disorders. We'd recommend drinking immediately after you take the extract to help with the peppery feeling in your throat - OR - switch to the softgels and enjoy the benefits BCP adds to a full spectrum product without the feeling. The package was crawling with ants 🐜 when I opened it. I had to throw the box outside. Luckily, the bottle is sealed. Cancelled my subscription and will look for an alternate source of CBD. Called customer service to let them know. Very gross. Ugh.

Hi Donna, As our customer service representative explained, the ants did not come from our facility. We are an FDA registered facility who operates under cGMP guidelines. Our facility and employee would had to have been covered in ants during the packing process and that's just not possible. The more appropriate explanation is the fact that your package sat outside at your location for a day prior to you claiming it. We are still horrified that you experienced that when opening your package. Even though this experience was not our fault, our offer to refund your order or ship another bottle to you (ableit with another carrier) still stands. We wish you the best of luck and hope you continue to get the relief you deserve.

Bluegrass Hemp Oil has exceeded our expectations when it comes to customer service and products! We started out by listening to their family story and what they do to provide customers with quality products. We loved the CBD oil extracts so much we decided to give the dog friendly CBD treats a try too. They work great for any anxiety and have improved our little Pekingese’s arthritis issues. Although we miss the vape products, we understand why they are no longer sold. We love Bluegrass Hemp!!
