Dear Susan Gwin,
As you have uploaded a review over Trustpilot this is a response to that so first and foremost, we regret to hear about your dissatisfaction with the services provided, and we take these matters seriously. However, there are some points that need to be clarified to address the misunderstandings.
1. Royalties and Pricing:
The royalties you are receiving are directly linked to the pricing and distribution model of your book. The amount of $2.07 per copy is the standard royalty rate based on the self-publishing platform's terms. We want to clarify that royalties are not set by us but by the platform itself. When you purchased printed copies directly from us, no royalties were applied because they were not sold through the royalty-generating channels.
2. Rights Over Your Book:
As a self-publishing service, we do not claim any rights over your book. You retain full ownership of your intellectual property. Our role is to assist with the publishing process, including design and distribution, but we do not have control over the content or future sales of your book once published. The royalties you receive are a result of the platform’s pricing and distribution strategy, not due to any involvement on our part in setting or claiming the proceeds.
3. Service Provided:
We fulfilled the services as outlined in the Gold package you purchased. This includes the cover design, the publishing process, and making your book available for sale through reputable platforms. It is important to note that the royalty you earn per copy is a reflection of the platform's terms and the book's pricing structure, not our company's actions. Additionally, we do not take credit for the content, including writing or artwork, which you provided.
4. TV Interview and Website Offer:
The offer for a TV interview and website services was made with the intention of increasing your visibility and giving you a platform to promote and sell your book directly. These services were entirely optional and intended to benefit your personal brand and sales. The website would allow you to sell books directly, keeping a larger share of the profits, and the TV interview was offered to raise your credibility in the market.
5. Publishing Delays:
We apologize for the delay in publishing. While we understand that the timeline was longer than expected, the process involves several stages including quality control, design finalization, and platform approval. Please note that delays in publishing are common in the industry, especially when considering the complexity of book production and distribution.
6. Book Printing and Sales:
Your books are printed via a reputable third-party platform, and we are not responsible for the physical printing or inventory management. The sales performance on Amazon or any other platform is dependent on a variety of factors such as marketing, visibility, and demand. As we have communicated, we are not responsible for direct sales monitoring on third-party platforms like Amazon.
We value transparency and professionalism in all our dealings, and it is important to understand the publishing process in its entirety. We encourage you to review the terms outlined in your agreement and, if needed, seek further clarification. Our goal has always been to provide you with the best possible service and the tools to succeed as an author.
We trust this clarifies the points raised. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
