Apps require updates.
We completed this app perfectly after which time this client wanted to connect it to a broken and outdated website platform. A nominal fee was suggested to client to update everything to make the correct connections, but that was refused and only patchwork was authorized by client (which was done for years by BrainyApps for FREE )
Once we told this client we could no longer do free work, she immediately decided that she needed to slam negative reviews for work that we finished many years ago.
I guess we need to post at least one of the messages you received.
TO CLIENT (From July 2021):
When you approached BrainyApps roughly four year ago, we agreed to develop a mobile app around your existing WordPress website--which was developed from scratch by a different developer.
At the time you came to BrainyApps, Fidomingle.com was already built on PHP version 5.6 (an older version). This means your website was developed using code, numerous plug-ins, and a WordPress theme that was compatible with PHP 5.6 at that time--but is no longer supported by the latest version of PHP.
This means your original website has now reached its technical end of life and must be updated for compatibility with the latest standards.
If you use other mobile apps, you probably noticed that the most popular and successful apps are continually updated often--typically monthly or even more frequently.
While some of these updates are to introduce new features to the app, most app updates are only designed to rework, upgrade, and make apps faster because the technical standards are continually evolving.
Keeping ANY mobile app or website updated to the latest standards is simply the inevitable cost of doing business as a website or app owner.
In the case of fidomingle.com, your website stopped working properly because it now requires a complete update/maintenance overhaul.
As you know, app and website code updates are not part of your monthly hosting contract. As such, you would need to pay to update your website for compatibility with the latest standards.
Unfortunately, we can not simply move your existing site to a new server (with the latest PHP version) to resolve the problem. Doing so would cause both your website and associated mobile app to stop working.
Rather, we specifically would need to move all your existing site content, create a new WordPress theme, install new plug-ins, and then put it all back together again.
As you can imagine, this is a significant amount of work. We obviously can not do this extensive upgrade work for free--nor will any other developer in the world.
If, for example, you bought a new car from a dealer and it starts to break and have problems after 7 or 8 years, you can not go to the manufacturer and ask them to fix it for free.
Why? Because it would be a routine maintenance issue that is the responsibility of the car owner--not the fault of the manufacturer.
Apps and websites are like cars--they require routine maintenance updates to keep them performing properly.
From this point, you have three options:
1. Pay BrainyApps to do a complete update of your website and mobile app for full compatibility with the latest standards. This will resolve any and all functionality problems you may be having, and will also provide you with significantly faster performance of your website and mobile app.
2. Pay another developer to do #1. If you wish to utilize a different developer for the upgrade work, then we will supply you with full source code of your mobile app and website. It will be needed in order to perform the code re-work.
We regret to post such a long response but we feel no other options are available to us, especially when people post such false claims.
