We joined the Choice Privilege Program hoping to accumulate points for a free room. We did not vacation for several years as we were building a business. We traveled across Quebec and the East Coast of Canada for several weeks. The room in Quebec and in Prince Edward Island were dirty, musty and had not been updated in several years. A tour bus of travelers were put in the new rooms while we were put in the old section of the hotel. When we checked the status of our account we were told that the our points had expired ? I was further told that they were sorry but there's nothing that can be done. We will never use this program again and I would suggest utilizing that you look elsewhere for accommodations.

HELL ECONOLOGE, ST GEORGE, IN UTAH
STOLEN LUGGAGE AND HORRIBLE SERVICE at ECONOLODGE located at 460 East ST GEORGE BLVD in UTAH.
My suitcase was stolen on August 5, 2024, the same day I arrived at the HELL EconoLoge motel located at 460 East ST GEORGE BLVD in St George in UTAH. There was terrible lack of safety. When I checked in, Nick, the mean manager instructed me to put my luggage by the back office of the motel. My assigned room was on the second floor and there was no assistance. Nick never offered to keep the luggage inside the office nor in a storage around the motel. The burgundy suitcase disappeared without a trace. The only people who were around the back area were the Indian 's four family members. When I reported to Nick about the looted suitcase, he did not care. Instead, he ordered me to leave the motel despite the fact that it was extremely hot on August 6 in St George(108 degree heat). The Check in with the rude Indian manager was horrible. Nick, was unprofessional, unwelcoming, disdainful, and dishonest. He discriminated against me and treated the other guests with respect. in addition, Nick's wife, his 4 family members and his housekeeper working with him had NO customer service either. They were all extremely unfriendly, discourteous as well. Before my trip, I had called the motel twice to make sure I could stay there for a week and the Indian agreed and told me that it will cost $403 for the week. However, as soon as I walked in the motel, Nick was extremely disdainful, condescending and disrespectful. The next day, Nick wanted to recheck my ID again and demanded I gave him my bank card so he could write the card number down even though he made me scan it 3 times for the same transaction.
I asked him if I could pay with cash or use another prepaid visa gift card, he refused. This was a terrifying experience I had at Econolodge. I am requesting the refund of $54 and the stolen suitcase.

No functioning toilet
On the hotel website, it shows a room from a different hotel. The room we were assigned didn't have a functioning toilet. Contents wouldn't go down after 7 flushes. We had to request/demand a different room with a working toilet. It wasn't offered to us. The room itself was in dis-repair. I have photos to show this. The pool hours were restrictive to paying customers enjoyment. The worst part of the stay was the toilet!!

We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Cedar…
We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Cedar City last week. We were never sent a survey to give feedback on our stay and feel that feedback is required.
Our room keys did not work because the battery in the locking mechanism failed. It took the night clerk an hour to get us back into our room because he was the only one on duty. He was a champ, but had to provide a cot to someone, had to check in a group, and he had no backup.
The day person replaced the battery because the maintenance man was off and the maintenance cupboard was locked. The first battery she tried lasted for an hour then stopped so she had to replace it again. She was a champ.
Maintenance should be replacing batteries on a schedule so they never fail. They should never be replaced only as needed. Rooms should be checked by maintenance regularly. Our sink did not drain. The faucet in the bathtub was not attached to the wall. The A/C was very noisy. There was no one to tell.
Housekeeping needs to be more thorough. The same white crud was on the carpet in the hall in front of our room for all three days of our stay.
The night clerk should have someone else with him at least until about 11 pm. When he is away from the desk he should have a sign to put on the counter so we know what to expect. He should also have a uniform of some sort.
The beds were comfortable, the pillows were beautifully soft but did not smell fresh.

Choice Responsibility
On July 22 at 3:07 PM, I called +1 (800) 300-8800 and was assured that I would receive a full refund. I was promised that a manager would call the next day to confirm this. This issue arose because a Choice agent mistakenly made my reservation for July 18-21 instead of August.
On the afternoon of July 23, I called back since I had not heard from the manager yet. A very helpful representative sent emails up the chain detailing my situation. They indicated that if the recordings of my calls were reviewed, it would confirm that I was promised a full refund. However, the email I received from Choice blamed me, saying that I was a no-show, and stated they would not issue a refund. They also ignored my request to review the call recordings.
Although I had rebooked my reservation for August, the lack of professionalism displayed by the supervisor has led me to decide to stay at Hilton instead and cancel my Choice Gold Membership. Additionally, many of Choice’s properties are becoming outdated, and poor customer service like this only makes it harder for them to remain competitive in an ever-changing market.

Double Billed by the Choice App
I booked through the app and was double charged twice on two separate nights at two different locations!!! This is a common complaint and is not an accident. The app says "server error. Please resubmit." When you resubmit your credit card is charged again. If you call the front desk number displayed by the app, you are routed to a Phillipine call center and have to ask for the actual US front desk.

CHOICE REWARDS IS NOTHING BUT A HUGE SCAM!
This review has to do with the Corporate office for Choice Hotels Canada!
I have been a member of Choice Rewards for over 20 years and they are getting so greedy and chincy at the expense of the Customer.
Just to name a couple of examples: 1) they are running a contest right now where if you stay 2 nights they will supposedly give you 8000 Choice rewards points so you can purchase a gift certificate valued at $50.00.
So I sign into the Choice hotels website and it doesn't show this offer at all which is very misleading to say the least!
What they do show is that you can purchase
a $25.00 gift certificate for 8,000 points; so what happened to the $50.00 gift certificate offer? So I call Choice Rewards about this and the guy tells me: I can give you that offer over the phone! They only say this so they can't be charged with misleading advertising!
2) so I stay 2 qualifying nights and they only award me 7,599 Choice points instead of the 8,000 Choice points! So I call them on this and I get some BS story that they will give you between X # of points and 8,000 points! So I tell the customer service guy that I was shortchanged by 401 Choice points and he refuses to give me these missing points! TALK ABOUT NICKEL & DIMING THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS!
CHOICE REWARDS IS NOTHING BUT A BIG SCAM! Years ago you could get one free night if you stayed 10 nights. Those days are long gone!
I think that a lot of Choice Rewards customers are realizing that Choice Rewards IS NOTHING BUT A HUGE SCAM!
My advise to you is to take your hotel business elsewhere and BOYCOTT CHOICE HOTELS!

Avoid hotel with Choice as there is no one to contact
Although No one is the owner of this choice hotel Trust pilot account, I just made this to make everyone aware.
I made booking online through booking.com and stayed in the comfort inn hotel Marina (14-19 April 2025) book ref 4821220210, while check out, I asked about the payment and Paid in the facility and they informed me that the booking fee will disappear after sometimes. Surprisingly, the creditcard statement Charged me twice, before check in and after checked out. Several email and phone call reveal no one responsible Neither Booking, Comfort inn Nor Choice, however creditcard company confirm that the fund is requested from Comfort inn for Both occasion. And I requested investigation through creditcard company for unresolved situations.
