Thank you for your 5-star review, Brian! We appreciate your feedback about timing. The 5-hour requirement is the mandated minimum content time set by the NYS DMV. The additional time you needed includes the quizzes and any breaks you took. Your heads-up to future students that they should give themselves more time than just the 5-hour requirement is helpful advice! Thank you for choosing Defensive Drivers Institute!

Thank you for your 5-star review, Chaikel! We appreciate your feedback about the certificate delivery. For the online pre-licensing course, there is no physical certificate issued. Everything is handled through our electronic reporting system, which we submit directly to the NYS DMV. We show that your completion was accepted by the NYS DMV on October 13, 2026 at 03:36 PM, approximately one hour after you completed your course. The DMV typically processes and reflects completions in their system within 24-48 hours, so if you don’t see it reflected yet, it should appear shortly. If you still have concerns after a couple of days, please reach out to our customer service team and they can help verify the status. Thank you for choosing Defensive Drivers Institute!
