Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your interactions, and we’d like to address your concerns directly.
First, it’s important to clarify that Dog Academy does not provide service dog ID cards, as these are not required by law under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). We are a training organization focused on helping handlers and their service animals through effective and compassionate training programs. For accurate legal information regarding service animals, we fully agree with your recommendation to visit ADA.gov.
Regarding your experience, we were happy to assist you and support your service dog’s training journey. However, completing the Public Access Test (PAT) requires video submissions to evaluate the dog’s skills and ensure readiness. Unfortunately, you refused to submit the necessary videos, which prevented us from completing the certification process. Additionally, our evaluator reported verbal abuse during your interactions, which goes against our commitment to providing a respectful and supportive environment for all clients.
We understand the challenges associated with managing a rare condition like Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and we truly empathize with your situation. We aim to work collaboratively with our clients to provide guidance and tools that enhance the bond with their service animal.
If you’d like to revisit this process and work toward a solution, we are here to help. Please feel free to reach out to our support team.
Wishing you and your pet the best,
The Dog Academy Team
