Chris,
First let me say that I am sorry that your home was damaged. We do a lot of work with insurance companies and these situations are often challenging for those experiencing damage to their homes. Remodels are stressful in the best of situations let alone when they are unplanned.
As far as your experience with Florcraft I will have to do a bit of research, but in this situation I see that we were working as a sub contractor to the restoration company that you contracted with. That being said, it appears that you were a primary contact throughout the project so you should have had the ability to stop the install at several points in the process. The installation is a scheduled event, set by the client or restoration company, we make a point to call 48 hours ahead of the installation to confirm that you, the customer, are prepared for our arrival and lastly, it is not uncommon, in the restoration process to stop the install when the installer arrives if the site is not ready for the installation. While we prefer to be the last one out of a remodel, there are times where we have had to install prior to the restoration company completing their portion of the job due to deadlines that have been set by the insurance companies or general contractors. In these situations, the restoration company would take all steps necessary to protect that floor.
I do know that the sales professional who handled your job on the Florcraft side is dedicated to making sure that his projects go smooth and that everything is done at or above industry standard. I also know that it is his practice to walk through jobs with his client when they are completed in order to ensure that the job meets the clients expectations. While I would be interested in talking with you as to what went wrong on your job, as far as the flooring is concerned, I feel as though what happened to your floors, after we were done, needs to be taken up with your restoration company. My impression is that the score you gave Florcraft on this review is more reflective of the restoration process than the work we did for you.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I will look into the restoration process on our side to see what we can do in the future to continue improving our level of service in these situations.
