Hi Kevin,
We really appreciate you sharing your feedback. We’ve spent a lot of time building out a process for Move-In’s that are geared towards making our residents’ first experiences with Great Jones as delightful as possible, but it looks like we missed the mark with you. We’ll be the first to step forward and say we could have done a better job, so with that, I’ll share out exactly how we’re using your feedback to do a better job in the future:
1. You felt your needs mentioned during walk-through were not addressed at Move-In.
As excited as we both were to get you into this brand new unit, we mistimed your lease start date with the city’s issuance of the certificates that legally permit you to occupy the home. While we were able to cover the costs of a hotel room for the 1-day delayed lease start, we completely understand how frustrating that is, and we further apologize for the inconvenience.
To specifically address the appliances you mentioned: unfortunately, we also mistimed and miscommunicated these to you. While the fridge and hot water were addressed within the first couple days of move in, we failed to communicate to you that this home came with a vent a hood but no microwave. In the future, we can and will do a better job to ensure timely delivery and over-communicate when we see a potential risk in that timing.
2. You’ve since felt that your attempts to reach out and get the needed repairs have been less than hassle free.
Our goal is to always make addressing your maintenance and repair needs as easy and quick-to-resolve as possible. In the majority of cases, we are able to accomplish this with a cloud-based maintenance system that streamlines coordination with our vendors and our residents and 24/7 access to a maintenance hotline. With new construction homes, however, these items are handled by the Builder as part of the warranty. Our standard process here has been to issue the ticket to the Builder, but what we lacked was a follow up action to ensure your needs were appropriately addressed. We’ve taken your feedback to our team and are planning to incorporate a solution as a part of the next series of Maintenance Process upgrades we’ve been working on delivering to our residents.
I completely understand your frustration with our service not meeting your expectations at Move-In; however, we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to redeem ourselves and service your needs better as we continue to work together. If I’ve left any of your feedback unaddressed, please don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected] so we can help troubleshoot directly.
Best,
Kahala
