Hi Tal,
Thank you for the kind words about the website, and for ordering on a friend's recommendation - we're glad the information was clear and easy to find.
Since you haven't used it yet, here are a few things worth knowing before your first night, as they make the difference between a good start and a frustrating one.
First, check your outlet. The small tester included in the box will tell you in a few seconds whether the outlet you're plugging into is properly grounded. This is the step people most often skip, and if the outlet isn't grounded the sheet won't do anything at all no matter how well it's set up. If the tester shows a problem, try a different outlet or ask an electrician to look at it. If your home doesn't have grounded outlets, get in touch and we'll talk you through the ground rod alternative.
Second, the sheet needs direct skin contact. It's designed to be slept on directly, not underneath your regular sheets. If you'd rather not sleep straight on it, leave part of it exposed so your arms, legs or feet are in contact through the night. A layer of cotton or bamboo in between will block the connection entirely, and this is the single most common reason people tell us they noticed nothing.
Third, washing. Cold water, gentle cycle, mild detergent, line dry. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, hot washes and the tumble dryer - all of them degrade the conductive fibres over time and shorten the life of the sheet considerably.
Finally, give it a fair trial. Everyone's experience is different, and some people notice something quickly while others don't notice anything at all. We'd rather you go in with realistic expectations than high ones.
If anything is unclear when it arrives, just email us and we'll help you get it set up properly. And yes, please do come back and tell us how you get on, whatever your experience turns out to be.
Best wishes,
