The insurance premiums may be lower…
The insurance premiums may be lower than many competitors, but there's a reason for that. Good luck getting a medication pre-authorized. Their standard review process takes up to **two weeks**, which completely defeats the purpose when you need medication promptly. Unless your doctor specifically marks the request as **urgent**, you're expected to wait while they review it. I contacted customer service, and all they would tell me was that my doctor needed to resubmit the request as urgent. Otherwise, I had to wait two weeks. They offered no real assistance or solutions. If your doctor prescribes a medication that you need right away, be prepared to stay on top of the process yourself. Delays like this can leave people waiting in pain or without necessary treatment. In my experience, the customer service was not helpful, and the prior authorization process was frustrating and unnecessarily slow.
