HyGuru USMLE PrepReviews of hyguru.com

Amazing program! I was overwhelmed with all of the resources available to medical students in HYGuru puts it into one place

This is by far one of the best resources to use for USMLE Step 1 preparation!! The HyGuru NBME concept reviews are interactive, high-yield, and help you reason rather than just memorize more information. I saw a big increase in my scores once I was able to apply the information I had already learned. Dr. Rahul’s positivity was refreshing and really helped me stay motivated during a stressful time. I looked forward to watching his videos, and he made me feel confident that I was capable of doing well. Would highly recommend to anyone preparing for this exam!

When I started my STEP1 dedicated journey, I had a starting score of 43%. As we know above 60% is passing with a comfort level above 70%. That put me 27% below where I needed to be. Due to familial and life circumstances, I had a relatively limited time period of 4 weeks to achieve this goal. I found Hyguru throughout my didactic years very helpful for my academic tests. Particularly, I find that when we learn material it’s easy to learn the “basics”. Hyguru doesn’t focus on that necessarily. You won’t learn that statins inhibit HGM CoA reductase but rather how they upregulate LDL receptors. These key details are what STEP tests on. Sure other resources can teach you the material, but Hyguru enforces the high yield content in a way that is unparalleled to any other resource. Specifically his PASS/FAIL course has incredibly valuable and comprehensive reviews of subjects no other resource has been able to provide.I found that his Immunology and Pathoma 1-3 review provided unparalleled clarity to subjects that are the highest yield on STEP1. In the end I owe my success in dedicated to Hyguru. I was able to improve my practice exam score from 43% to 78% in just 4 weeks. I will highly recommend HyGURU and have been to anyone who would like to excel in medicine. Truly have yet to find a program that parallels his caliber of teaching.

Amazing experience, Dr Rahul is an amazing teacher. I am usually sceptical about paying for online courses however I have been following his content on youtube for a few months now and have loved his style of teaching. It is most useful for students in dedicated or just going into dedicated. It was a lovely review of high yield concepts but also test taking mindset that is crucial in an exam like this. Grateful that he is able to share that side of preparing for this exam too. Maybe if the breaks were divided up it might have been nicer, but either way, it's a great morning of review made easy. Couldn't recommend more!

Hyguru videos helped me throughout my first two years of medical school and during my dedicated period. A teaching style that can be described as enthusiastic and concise. I have recommended it to multiple friends and will continue to do so!

Here was my situation. I took the first NBME of my dedicated prep period and scored a 42%. With 5 weeks of dedicated time, I was pretty bummed. I looked for review resources and continued to be disappointed with other sites offering self-study prep material that I could have just done myself. Hitting my head against a wall continuously. Then I found HYGURU. Dr. Damania has completely revitalized me in my dedicated STEP 1 study period. I have a renewed confidence and I am excited about medicine again. HYGURU is hands down the best USMLE Board Prep site you can find. By the way, shortly after attending a series of his lectures and skills, I brought my second NBME up to a 59% in just 2 weeks using his lessons. Still a ways to go, but if it can do that for me, then it can do it for you. Highly Recommend.

Working with Dr. Rahul was the best decision I could have made to study for Step 1. I completed his pass/fail course and worked with him as a private tutor. Together we develop a plan that best worked for me. In our meetings, we reviewed high yield concepts, applied them using USMLE-type questions, and talked about test-taking strategies. It was such a relief to develop a plan to make the most of dedicated studying. I felt so much more confident during dedicated and on test day. Rahul is a caring and professional person who was always prepared before our meetings which made them highly productive. Rahul encouraged and pushed me in the lowest moments of my dedicated study period. It was great to have a mentor and a friend cheering me on! If you are unable to do private tutoring with Rahul I still highly recommend doing the P/F and Youtube webinars. I look forward to working with him in preparation for Step 2.

I worked with Rahul for both Step 1 and Step 2 CK, and it was a wonderful experience all around! I've always been a decent test-taker, but Rahul helped me reach the next level and significantly outperform my target scores. He doesn't just teach content (there are already good resources for pure content review), but instead, he works with his students to create a study strategy (not just a schedule!) as well as develop efficient and effective ways of approaching each question, block, and test. If you like his free content on Youtube, then his paid content and 1-on-1 tutoring are definitely worth considering!
