Kirkus Reviews is one of the most…Kirkus Reviews is one of the most recognized names in the book-review industry, with a history dating back to 1933.
Books have been an important part of my learning and personal growth. I enjoy exploring a wide variety of genres, including mystery, fiction, adventure, and real-life stories. Reading has helped me develop critical thinking skills, expand my vocabulary, and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures, perspectives, and experiences.
Over the years, I have read books from both well-known and emerging authors. I particularly enjoy stories that feature strong characters, engaging plots, and meaningful messages. Mystery and suspense books keep me interested because they challenge me to think ahead and solve problems alongside the characters.
Beyond entertainment, books have also been a valuable source of knowledge. They have helped me learn about history, science, personal development, and current events. Reading regularly has strengthened my ability to analyze information, recognize themes, and express my thoughts clearly.

I had great experience with Kirkus Reviews. The website is very easy to navigate and I easily got information those were in my search. It feels very well organized and maintained. Service and review process are explained very clearly . But also I discovered few pricing and service details were to be explained more transparently . Overall its worth considering for book review. A great, professional experience
Kirkus got my novel into the hands of the right reviewer, who must have read my novel carefully, because the brief synopsis accompanying the review was even better than anything I could have written. What I really appreciated, though, was that the reviewer picked up on the tones of my two narrators--one lyrical and one with a sense of wonder--and noted that in the review. This tells me that the reviewer was looking at the nuances beyond plot that I believe set my novel apart. The review was ultimately very positive, and earned me a Kirkus star, which I very much appreciated.
One minor issue came up in providing my novel to Kirkus. Although they provide for receiving hardcopies, in the end it was easier for them to receive a digital copy. They may want to consider insisting on a digital copy, if they can't deal with a hardcopy. A very minor point--and despite the initial delay caused by this, they actually delivered the completed review early!
All around, it was a great, professional experience.
I intend to seek a Kirkus review for every book I write.

Obviously Assigned to The Wrong Reviewer
I received a more-or-less positive review from a reviewer who for some reason reviewed the book for how appropriate it would be for a young reader audience. ....It isn't. It fell into the Climate-Fiction, Hard-Science Fiction subgenres for adult readers. The reviewer missed the entire point of the novel, demonstrating a lack of understanding for these subgenres, as well as the current science the plot trigger mechanism was based on. It was almost as if the reviewer was looking at the novel from a 'kiddy-lit' point-of-view. Apparently, there is no recourse to have it reassigned to an appropriate reviewer.
