I am so close to finishing this course, and cannot say enough great things about it!
I will start off by saying, my experience with this course has been amazing. Linda (the instructor and creator) has so much knowledge in this field! She has been a great teacher, and gives you every tool to make this happen. The amount of time and energy she puts into her students and their success is outstanding.
I am excited to finish and start a new career, but sad that my time in this course will soon be over!
One thing i will say is: You have to want this. You will have to work for it. It may not feel easy at times, but it will be so rewarding. You will get constructive criticism. Do not take it personally. Use it as fuel to perfect the art of transcription.

Hi Kim! Yes, you are through with the course except for taking your exam, graduating, and getting started in your paid apprenticeship! I'm so proud of you and your progress you have made throughout the course. I'll miss you, too! But you'll be moving on to greener pastures!

A training program that delivers!
I found out about this course through TikTok, and I have to say, it is by far, THE best course investment I've made.
Unlike other transcription courses, Linda is a certified court reporter with years of experience in the field. She's done trials, depositions, hearings, you name it. You want someone with legal experience training you, and Linda definitely has it.
Aside from the experience, she has the connections which leads me to the second best benefit of this course--a paid apprenticeship after graduation. I just finished my final exam, and Linda already has two agencies in mind that she wants to send me to! I'm so excited to start working!
There is also a Facebook student group and zoom meetings where she will often invite graduates to come and speak and give you an idea of what it's like when working in the field.
I chose this training to make extra money and eliminate my overtime at work and be home more with my family. Legal transcription is going to help me achieve that goal, and I feel so confident after being trained by Linda.
I've taken a lot of courses that I wish I could get my money back for, but I can tell you, honestly, Learn to Transcribe isn't one of them. I wish I'd found this course sooner! Thank you Linda!

Hi Lisa. You were a star student for sure! I was blown away by how well you did on your exam and wondered if you'd ever done this kind of work before. You said no. So this just proves yet again that someone with determination can absolutely be trained from ground zero to producing professional-quality litigation transcripts within just a few short months. You are going to do so well with this, and I would like to hear from you as to how everything is going!

Military life flexibility! It goes where you go!
I'm here to review Ms. Linda's course from Learn to Transcribe Academy as I'm nearing its completion. I recently took my practice exam, and I wanted to share my thoughts. First and foremost, I want to clarify that I'm not being paid or incentivized to write this review.
A little about me: I've been a stay-at-home mom for 14 years, have four kids, and am a military spouse with no prior skills in this field. The course's flexibility and apprenticeship opportunity were my main reasons for choosing it.
Now, let me get straight to the point. Expect more positive reviews for this course; they're well-deserved. This course is comprehensive and not a quick-fix scheme. It demands dedication and practice. Ms. Linda's instructional videos are like having a mentor right at your desk, offering invaluable guidance. Her responsiveness to queries is impressive, usually within a day.
As more students join, Ms. Linda is expanding her team to enhance the course further. This evolution benefits new students, making the investment even more worthwhile.
As I approach the end of the course, I already feel equipped to find work independently. Passing the final exam with minimal errors is a justified requirement because building a strong reputation in the industry is crucial. Upon passing, Ms. Linda even connects you with job opportunities, leveraging her 30+ years of experience.
This course stands out because it offers an apprenticeship. Some may cost less but lack personal support. Ms. Linda, as a seasoned expert, is the best guide in this field. Her plans for future courses and continuous updates show her commitment to her students' success.

Thank you for such a nice review, Shannon! By following instructions and working together, you were able to go from literally zero transcription experience to turning out truly great work within just a few short months. I'm so proud of you! As soon as you ace your exam, I will get to work finding an apprenticeship for you to get started with paid litigation transcription work. Like you said, the good thing about this is it travels with you since it's done remotely in your own home. You have been a great student, and I really appreciate your trust and confidence in our academy, the course you are taking, and in me as your instructor and as a person dedicated to helping students find a new career. You have the skills to do great on your exam. Keep believing in yourself!

Highly recommend!
I have just completed the course and will be onboarding as an apprentice within the week! After the last few years, I was determined to be able to work from home and blindly dove into general transcription services. I had a steep learning curve and was completely self-taught. After about a year, I had both fallen in love with transcription and outgrown the company I worked for. Literally the moment I heard about the Learn to Transcribe Academy, I made contact, set up an informational Zoom session, and signed up. What attracted me most to this program, like many others, is the paid apprenticeship. Although I found myself confident in my transcription skills, I would have had no clue how to market myself once I gained legal transcription skills. Now, only five months after signing up, I'm about to embark on my journey as a Legal Transcriptionist. I found that this course was challenging enough that I was learning every day but not so challenging that I was overwhelmed by information. And, of course, being self-paced, if I was struggling with a concept, then I was able to spend as much or as little time on it as I needed. I found the assignments and skill-building to be incredibly effective, and my questions were always addressed promptly. I cannot wait to hit the ground running with all my new knowledge and skills. And the cherry on top is that I have a support system and a safety net with LTA. Highly recommend!

Lyndsy, I was blown away by how well you did on your final exam. This profession is such an excellent fit for your skills, intelligence, and goes along nicely with your bachelor's degree in English Literature. Oh, the things we hear! I appreciate the confidence you had in me as your instructor and as a person dedicated to helping people just like you launch into a new career of legal transcription. I have every reason to believe that you are going to love your apprenticeship and the fine folks at the company where you were referred. Please do keep in touch, and let me know if you need anything. Thanks so much for such a nice review!

Worth the time and money!
I started the course in July of 2023 and recently graduated. The owner/instructor, Miss Linda, has taken her 30+ years of experience as a court reporter and created a course for every experience level. Whether we’re completely new to legal transcription, like myself, or want to improve on skills we already have, Miss Linda’s course is worth it. It is clear she has put a lot of time and thought into the lectures, and she’s also willing to take helpful feedback to improve the course. For example, I’m a more visual learner than an auditory learner, so I mentioned that it would be nice to have extra samples of transcripts for people with my learning style. Not only did she genuinely thank me for the suggestion, but she immediately got to work adding them to the course. Another student wanted extra practice files towards the end of the course, so she added them as well. I’ve learned how to make and use macros to increase my speed, how to create a template, the correct punctuation to use in legal transcripts, correct formatting, and so much more. I had absolutely no transcription experience when I started and now I am confident as I begin my legal transcription career. I was also referred by Miss Linda to a company for a paid apprenticeship. I absolutely feel this course was money well spent!

Kristina, what a nice review. Thank you for your kind words. I do listen to students' suggestions when brought to me and make adjustments to accommodate their needs, and I really appreciate your suggestions. You have gone from zero transcription experience to now having graduated and referred to a paid apprenticeship with a great company where I have no doubt that you will do a great job. You caught on so quickly to everything you were taught, applied yourself, stayed focused the entire time, and got across the finish line! I know you told me at the beginning that having a flexible job working from home is very important to you since you have a disabled child with special needs. Well, guess what? You found it with litigation transcription! Keep in touch during your apprenticeship, and if I can help you in any way, just reach out to me!

Would Not Recommend
This is all based on my own personal experience and opinion: I would not recommend this course to anyone. I was financially taken advantage of and falsely advertised to. When I signed up, the course was promoted on the teacher’s website, as well as social media, as a self-paced course with a paid apprenticeship upon graduation and would take around 90 days to finish, depending on the frequency that the individual put into it. I was a full-time student. After six months, I was still in the course. The course is not truly self-paced. You have to wait for the teacher to send, grade, and sometimes regrade your practice files. I have waited up to three weeks for one file. I have proof of that. Soon into the course, I realize that the teacher would constantly change turn in days/times and what was allowed or not allowed. Rules were constantly being changed on a whim. Nothing was ever consistent. Once I finally got to the testing portion, there were hidden fees: Administration and testing retake fees. This was not disclosed anywhere on the website when I signed up. Then, the teacher began to change her language from an apprenticeship after graduation to a referral for an apprenticeship based on availability. A job referral and a placement for an apprenticeship are two different things. We also found out the apprenticeships were not guaranteed, there were entry tests and interviews. I emailed the teacher personally about this and initially she did not respond to me. Once another student brought all of these concerns to her publicly on Facebook, she claimed that we were all being dishonest until she figured out that many of us had proof that she changed her website that night and that we were not the ones being dishonest. Then she took down the post and emailed me back, our issues are still unresolved. Any changes that she made to her course, rules, apprenticeships, fees, should not apply to anyone who signed up before she made it transparent on her website. If I saw a course that said it was taught by a teacher who would treat me unprofessionally and inappropriately, could take any amount of time to finish depending on the teacher’s schedule and mood of rules, that I would be subjected to be threatened for unenrollment over minor misunderstandings, that I would have a possible job referral for a possible apprenticeship where I would still have to interview and take entry tests and could be denied even though I already gave the teacher a bunch of money, that I would only get two retakes and if I fail the teacher would still get to keep all of my money, I would’ve never signed up for this. I believe Linda has received a lot of students from TikTok, and because of that she has bitten off more than she can chew. Maybe at one point in time she was able to fulfill the promises she advertised when I signed up, but that is no longer the case. In my opinion, she wants the money that comes along with the students but gets overwhelmed by the workload. And that is not fair for someone who would be paying so much. I could deal with the teacher’s attitude and possibly even still recommend it if there was not false advertisement but that was not my experience. Please, do not be fooled by all of the TikToks. Whenever bad reviews are left, Linda begs students to leave good reviews and even in some instances asks them to report the bad reviews as harassment. I’m sure that will happen with this review, as well.

This is your warning...
PLEASE, read all of this. Don't trust strangers on the internet. That being said, if you absolutely must, listen to the one who has nothing to gain or lose based on your decision (me).
I enrolled in the course. Before enrolling, I spoke with Linda at length. Her "southern charm" got me hooked. Once she gets your money, it's a whole different situation. She is like a tyrant. YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR. She is rude. She is dishonest. She changes the rules daily to suit her agenda. It's a wild ride that I would NOT recommend to anyone.
She also solicits reviews from students and recent graduates. They do this because they want to gain favor, or fear that they can't find work without her. One of them will be along shortly to comment on this very post. I could type about my experience for days, but you just have to trust me. Save your nearly $2k, and thank me later.

Hi Jena. I’m surprised to learn that you feel your experience with Learn to Transcribe Academy's legal transcription program did not meet your expectations. However, we have a significant track record of positive outcomes. I would have appreciated the opportunity to have attempted to resolve any issues you had offline, but your public review here and on other sites is how I learned you were dissatisfied.
Soliciting reviews is common and a part of modern business ownership, and there's nothing underhanded about it. Reviews can also appear without having been solicited at all. Legal transcription can be a challenging career, and it isn’t for everyone. I wish you the best in a career that suits your needs.

Replying to Tracy Brown's Post
Tracy, I find your review very disturbing. When I was going through the course, I never saw one time where this course was preparing completely to take the AAERT Certification. My suggestion would be to buy the "Best Practice Guide" from AAERT if this is what you're looking for.
The coursework was very informative. It's obvious that Linda has taken a lot of time and put a lot of thought into how she would prepare this course for others to learn from. She is also very knowledgeable in the field. She always had an open door to explain things further if necessary. It is a transcriber's job to make sure that the spellings that need to be confirmed are confirmed. So, as far as the files that you are claiming have the attorney's name spelled wrong three times, it would be your job in the real world to confirm and correct them. Are you going to challenge your employer when they tell you something is wrong? Trust me, they will tell you that. I was always taught to take and learn from it.
She makes it very clear from the beginning that this is a course to teach the proper way to set up and transcribe a transcript in a timely manner. This is exactly what the course teaches you, on top of the extra support, encouragement, and feedback she gives throughout.
As far as mistakes, I have never known a person in my years to be perfect. If you come across one, I sure would like to know the secret of being that "perfect" person.
In my education throughout my life, not only this course, I looked at my mistakes and learned from them as I went along. This is called the learning process. If you thought that you knew how to transcribe a legal document the correct way, why did you even sign up for the course? You should've already been out in the working world working.
My experience with the course set me up for a very successful career, and I have also taken it to the next level. You have to want to succeed before you can succeed.
