Great at first, now less impressed
Transferring my loan balance to Lendkey was an easy process. I got decent loan terms. And I liked that this loan is offered through a credit union. Now that I’ve worked with them for several years, I am much less impressed. Their monthly statements are exceedingly confusing. You have about a 10-14 day window of time in which you can make extra payments without it counting toward your next month’s balance. And as your balance drops, they lower your monthly payment without asking (aka they’re trying to keep you paying for the full life of the loan you requested, rather than make it easy to pay off the loan early.) IMO, this makes for the loan service to be confusing, a bit time consuming, and maybe a bit sneaky on their part.
