I was was very skeptical about LensDirect, I had never heard of them, but I got some lenses replaced on some frames that are no longer made and while the process took a little over three weeks (including mailing the frames in and getting them back), the second I put the glasses on with the new progressive lenses they were perfect, clear and everything in focus, no adjustments needed—this is the first time I’ve never had to make any adjustments to a pair of glasses; them having me mark my pupils on the old lenses before sending them in seems to have worked. Very, very happy with the new lenses, saving a 14 year old pair of frames that have always suited me well. I also ordered a basic pair of sunglasses and they are excellent, everything is clear and crisp. Since those first orders came in I’ve since ordered a second pair of sunglasses and an inexpensive pair of backup glasses.

I sent my old eyeglass frames to LensDirect and had the lenses updated with my new prescription. The price was less than half of what I would have paid at my eye doctor’s office. I was very pleased with the finished product and my order was ready and shipped back to me in less than two weeks. I would definitely use them again.

In August I tried to order replacement lenses on LensDirect.com but the site malfunctioned, causing me to place the order by phone. The LensDirect representative took my credit card number but did not mention that there would be a green coating on the cleear lens. When I did not receive any confirmation for several weeks I called again and was told there was a problem with my prescription. I had provided my ophthalmologist's name and number to the first phone representative but LensDirect apparently were unwilling to reach out to him. I would never have known where my glasses were if I did not call back to ask, and do the repeat work of re-contacting my ophthalmologist to request his office forward the prescription to LensDirect again. The second representative also did not mention coating. The glasses arrived two months later. Apparently, on October 9, LensDirect sent a confirmation email that arrived in my trash folder. I would never have seen it had I not called in October to complain about receiving glasses with green coating and had the representative not asked for my order number. The representative said it was standard to coat lenses in this manner, which I know is untrue from any number of opticians I have purchased from in the past. I did not agree to any coating and certainly not to the coating they came with. However, I only asked to have the lenses replaced, which LensDirect has refused to do.

Hello There! We’re truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience you experienced. We understand how disappointing it is to deal with delays, repeated follow-ups, and receiving lenses with a coating you did not expect or request. This is not the experience we want for our customers. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and sincerely apologize that we fell short of your expectations.
