Regarding your account, we understand that the billing and crediting process can sometimes be complex, especially with the seasonal nature of solar energy production. However, in New York, we are only able to apply credits based on what your actual usage was that month. Nexamp ensures that your annual electricity costs are reduced by applying the solar credits you receive at a discounted rate. Nexamp operates on a two-bill system. Your utility first applies the solar credits to your account, which reduces the amount you owe to them. Once the utility verifies these credits, Nexamp generates an invoice for the discounted value of the solar credits that were applied. This means the Nexamp invoice corresponds to credits that have already reduced your utility bill. Additionally, we apologize for sending you marketing materials while you were already a subscriber. Hello Kris, Thank you for your feedback. As a Nexamp community solar subscriber, you have a share in one of our solar projects, which generates clean energy directly into the grid. Your utility applies a reduction to your usage costs based on the amount of solar energy your share produces each month. Please note that Nexamp bills in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your utility bill and when we invoice you (at your allotted discount). This delay occurs because we are waiting for confirmation from the utility that credits have been applied to your account. If there are delays in credit application by the utility, there will also be delays in invoicing from Nexamp. To help customers catch up to a normal billing cadence, we may invoice for multiple production periods at once. We always offer an interest-free payment plan, as we understand the inconvenience of larger bills. Our goal is to maintain a consistent monthly billing cadence and ensure smooth communication. However, occasional delays, which are unfortunately beyond our control, do occur. The current situation has been particularly challenging, but we have taken numerous measures to return to normal and keep you informed along the way.
