Reply from NY Book PublishersMay 12, 2026
We are responding formally to this review as NY Book Publishers. We respect every client’s right to share their experience and take that responsibility seriously. However, this review contains several factual inaccuracies that we are obligated to address publicly and transparently so prospective authors have an accurate understanding of what occurred.
First, this review was posted under a name that does not correspond to the client’s identity. The individual involved is Rafael R. Colon, who publishes under the pen name Tak Moomyn, the author name attached to the three titles referenced below. We believe Trustpilot should be aware of this discrepancy, particularly given the serious allegations being made anonymously.
Second, the reviewer states they paid $8,700. Our signed agreements and verified payment records confirm the total paid was $7,700. This is a material inaccuracy and must be corrected.
Additionally, three books authored under the pen name Tak Moomyn are fully published and currently live on Amazon:
• The Love Bug & The Spring Breeze – Volume I (Published Jan. 9, 2026)
• Volume II (Published Jan. 9, 2026)
• Volume III (Published Mar. 25, 2026)
These titles are publicly available and independently verifiable. Three live books on Amazon are not evidence of a scam operation.
The Volume I audiobook was also fully produced, professionally narrated, mastered, and prepared for distribution. Its release has remained pending because the client did not provide final authorization despite repeated requests.
Copyright filings were also submitted on the client’s behalf with the U.S. Copyright Office and remain active under the following case numbers:
• Volume I: 1-15107490491
• Volumes II & III: 1-15108282559
The reviewer also describes Contract 2 as a predatory upsell. In reality, the agreement was personally negotiated by the client through written correspondence, including detailed instructions regarding audiobooks, trailers, and deliverables.
For additional transparency, the reviewer’s complaints regarding AI-assisted illustration work concern complimentary services that were never included in the signed contracts. These enhancements were offered at no additional cost and could be accepted or declined freely.
The reviewer also acknowledged changing platform credentials in April 2026, which revoked our access to Amazon systems before campaigns, A+ Content, SEO implementation, and advertising deployment could be completed. Revoking access and later citing non-execution as negligence does not accurately reflect the sequence of events.
Finally, while a formal refund request was already under review through our Litigation and Compliance Division, the client simultaneously initiated a bank chargeback dispute after substantial deliverables had already been completed and published. This matter is now being handled through the appropriate legal and administrative channels.
NY Book Publishers delivered substantial contracted services over a six-month engagement. While communication challenges occurred during this complex creative process, we reject the claims that this was fraud or a scam. We remain committed to resolving the matter professionally and have extended multiple written offers to do so. That offer remains open.
