Hi Maez, thanks for your message. We produce in China using 100% recycled paper and license designs from many designers around the world including our own in-house designs. We produce our items with 250 gsm paperboard, while some of our lamp products have pieces that are slightly thinner to allow light to pass through the paper and serve as a lamp, however they have proven to be strong and long lasting in our quality testing and amongst our many customers. From our testing a thicker paper would actually be detrimental to the structure aesthetics of the design, namely that the colored paper when too thick does not always reach the perforations and folds in the paper. Please write to use at [email protected] with any questions.
EDIT: Hi Maez, our most popular in house design so far is are Axolotl Lamp, shown here: https://papercraftworld.com/products/axolotl-3d-model
But we release new in house designs almost every month. For the other designs, our licensees are quite happy to work with us, and enjoy seeing a finished product that they've made come to life!
Should you feel our paper is not up to your standards, we are often able to offer refunds or replacements when a product does not meet expectations, please reach out to us by email.
We do appreciate your concern for workers in China. It is a growing issue for us and for any responsible company. We have direct relationships with our suppliers and maintain 3rd party quality control checks to ensure workers are being treated fairly with adequate wages and safe and clean working conditions. We are not at a level of growth yet to have found this to be a challenge, as we're able to work with a small, dedicated, and happy team in China.
Additionally we do our best to be environmentally responsible, using only recycled material and developing partnerships with charities such as the Rainforest Trust, Cheetah Conservation Fund, and others that are under way.
