Love the frames! While prescription feels right when looking from certain angles, it doesn't seem to be in the whole lense and makes you feel nauseous. Have never had this problem with other brands like Warby Parker, or traditional brick and mortar. Even after trying a second time they are off. Unfortunately wouldn't try again.

We’re sorry that even after working with you on a remake, the glasses still didn’t provide the comfortable vision you expected. Frame size, lens positioning, and individual visual preferences can all influence how a prescription feels, even with relatively mild corrections. We understand how disappointing it is when a frame you love doesn't deliver the visual experience you need. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to try to make things right and wish you the very best with your future eyewear.

I wanted to like Payne...
I wanted to like Payne. I loved the frames, and their virtual try-on, filters and lens explanations made ordering online easy.
Unfortunately, the glasses did not work for me. I reported the problem on February 21, within days of receiving them. Payne did not respond until March 5, after I eventually had to reach out through Facebook to get attention.
What followed was a lengthy troubleshooting process involving multiple emails, photos, my prescription, measurements, additional photos and repeated follow-up. Payne initially told me they were gathering this information so they could “remake a pair that works for you.”
I cooperated with the process, but there were a lot of steps just to get to a remake. There was eventually a delay on my end due to personal circumstances, but at no point was I clearly told that the remaining troubleshooting had to be completed by a specific date or I would lose the remake.
Months later, after completing the requested measurements, I was told the 30-day remake period had expired. Payne acknowledges that I originally reported the problem well within that period, but says the troubleshooting also had to be completed within its deadline.
After all of that, their conclusion was that I should have my eye prescription rechecked rather than remake the glasses. I even offered a simpler resolution: I would confirm my prescription and accept basic single-vision distance lenses rather than another pair of progressives. They declined.
I understand warranty deadlines, but this was not a customer coming back months later with a new complaint. I reported the problem almost immediately and then spent months trying to navigate Payne's troubleshooting process.
I'm out approximately $100 and still don't have usable glasses. I loved the frames, but the amount of effort required to troubleshoot an online glasses order, the response delays, and the ultimate lack of resolution make it unlikely I'd order prescription glasses from Payne again.

We’re sorry this process ultimately didn’t lead to the resolution you were hoping for. We recognize that you first reached out within the warranty period and that personal circumstances later interrupted the troubleshooting process. Unfortunately, warranty coverage does have time limits, and by the time we were able to resume and complete the review, that coverage had expired. We understand how disappointing that outcome was after the time you invested in the process, and we’re sorry we weren’t able to find a path forward together.

Overall fine but it said I would…
Overall fine but it said I would receive a free pair of glasses and I never got an email or code about it and I already ordered 2 pairs. So that is not ok.

Missing out on an offer you were expecting is frustrating. Our Free Frames offer is available directly through our Free Frames collection and doesn't require a separate coupon code. You can find it here: https://www.payneglasses.com/eyeglasses/deals.html?gender=552. The collection is updated regularly with new styles and colors, giving customers fresh options throughout the year. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Why can't you put in the prescription
Getting the prescription put in and answering all of the questions was very finicky, fussy, and complicated. I have uploaded the prescription so why the hell can't you just do it?

That’s frustrating — especially after uploading your prescription and still having to go through all the steps. Those details help ensure everything is set up correctly, but it should feel more straightforward. If you’d like, we can walk you through it and make it easier. Thank you for writing this.

Couldn’t try the frames on virtually
Couldn’t try the frames on virtually. It took forever and several times to create an account and login. Very difficult to navigate, and too much duplication of needed information. Amazon is a cake walk to complete an order compared to your system. I hope the glasses are worth the aggravation.

That sounds frustrating — especially when trying to get through setup and not being able to preview frames as expected. Not all frames are currently available in VTO, and we know the process should feel smoother than that. Thanks for calling this out — we’re actively working to make the experience faster and easier to move through.

cumbersome (to me) interface
You make it near impossible to "save more than one style" for choosing between this or that frame. (or ... it is my misunderstanding) . The result is when trying to decide between pairs I have to remember which kind I like better then start all over. When on the page to verify prescription before "ORDER" the axis number did not show as 051 but rather 51, without the preceding zero. Sooooo, I thought "OMG wrong number!!) I went back, but then, I thought "too late" I hit some "cancel" button but, I do not know what it did. Then, there was nothing in my cart, then, I went through the whole thing again. To this minute I do not if I ordered or canceled. BUT I guess the ability to exchange within 30 days eliminates the risk. But I have a lot of problems with the interface not returning to where jumped out. I THINK that it will be a good fair deal on the spectacles. I'll know when (if?) they arrive and I'll learn if my Clearview anti-glare actually helps at all with night time driving. I vacillated between Transition brand photochromatics and Clr2Dark brand. I used to work for Corning before they sold 'transitions' and I have a bias. I am excited to get new glasses and hope they help at least a little for night driving. ALSO - the way I read the descriptions,Transitions darken slightly in the car at night. The Clr2Dark does not react as much (or at all) behind a windshield - which is more useful for driving at night but not in the day during the brightest sunshine. (Clip-on time?)

That sounds frustrating — especially having to restart and not being sure where things landed. We’ll take a look and make sure everything came through as expected.
On the lens side, you’re right — Transitions XTRActive is the option that darkens behind the windshield, which is why it performs differently.
And for comparing frames, you can save styles as you browse (using the heart icon) so you don’t have to start over each time.
Appreciate you taking the time to walk through this.

Been ordering from Payne for years, however...
Been ordering from Payne for years, but it was a little more difficult this time. Couldn't order the exact pair I purchased before, and had to buy with additional coverage I do not need. I didn't need the Oleo Guard coating or the warranty. Had to pay for more than I needed. Since I was forced to pay for these extras, I was unable to purchase the two pairs of glasses I planned to buy and had to settle for one.

That’s frustrating — especially after ordering with us for years. Lens options can vary depending on the selection, and we’re always happy to help make sure you’re only getting what you need. Thanks for calling this out.
