(Tupelo, MS location.) I could tell from the moment I walked into this place that it was going to be a disaster. But, my local hospital couldn't run all the tests ordered so I either had to go here or drive to Memphis to Quest. I did have a good many tests to be run and it took the lab technician a while to input all the codes. I had a feeling as she was struggling to input them all that something wouldn't be right. It was all just very disorganized, unprofessional, and the technician acted like she didn't know what was going on. She actually did a good draw, I'll give her that. But, sure enough, when I got the results, two key tests were missing. I called the 800-line and got the runaround there, too, and was told just to go back and have them do it again. No, I won't be going back to LabCorp. I was specifically trying to avoid being stuck twice by going there in the first place! I would not AT ALL recommend this place. It's a hot mess. So hot that it would actually be better to make the drive to Memphis. Also, when you go to their website and try to "rate the lab" it won't actually allow you to do that. It will never move beyond the Captcha page. I feel like the whole LabCorp outfit is a joke. BEWARE!

Just general advice. Don’t bother going as a walk in patient as booked appointments take priority. The facility at Salem Church Road Virginia is so slow on a Saturday morning. You can turn up at 7.30am and still not be seen by 9.30am. Such a shambolic place. Making people wait over 2 hours shouldn’t be allowed. Either all walk in, more staff needed, or all appointments, not the both.

I contacted Labcorp (several times) after I found out of their association with MBR Acres. MBR breeds Beagles for the 'Animal Testing'/'Research' Industry (Animal Testing and Animal Research are generic, sanitized terms the industry uses to blind people to the fact the animals, used in said 'research', are prodded, poked, sprayed with chemicals, poisoned and, ultimately, euthanized aka bled to death as their blood is worth money too). My emails comprised of several questions which, I believed, were polite and pertinent to their operations. Questions such as: Does Labcorp currently source research animals from Charles River Laboratories, Marshall BioResources (including MBR Acres in the United Kingdom), Inotiv, or any other commercial breeding facilities? If so, could you indicate which species are supplied by each company? Approximately how many animals does Labcorp procure annually for research purposes, broken down by species where possible? What welfare standards and auditing procedures does Labcorp require of its animal suppliers beyond the minimum legal requirements? Does Labcorp publish, or intend to publish, data relating to the number of animals procured annually and the commercial suppliers from which they are obtained? What measurable steps is Labcorp taking to reduce its reliance on commercially bred animals through the adoption and validation of non-animal research methods? Labcorp refused to even acknowledge my communications thus did not answer one of my questions. On this basis I have to leave them a negative review as their own website speaks of: transparency, responsible research and animal welfare. It seems, Labcorp don't practice what they preach.

The Labcorp lab located at the Walgreens in Kearny,NJ should be avoided. The “phlebotomists” do not read the orders correctly and don’t draw the right vials and you must come back for a correct draw. They are idiots.

I visited LabCorp at 12219 Plum Orchard MD location. The devil tech named Sheena is a racist! She rejected me two times because of my race! On 7/11, she chased me out, I contacted her manager and posted her hateful act on Google review. On 7/21, hoping there’s other techs do my blood order, Sheena wasn’t my tech but she seemed to own the lab! She chased me out again and have someone gave me another location at New Hampshire! My lab is time sensitive as a result it was tested one hour later at New Hampshire! Be aware Sheena! She is dangerous and very rude and racist! I reported Maryland Dept of Health and LabCorp headquarter about her insane behavior! Sheena acted like she owned the lab. Many patients I heard a similar experience from her! She should be removed so that patients can go to the location which is very close to my home. Hopefully dept of health MD and LabCorp do disciplinary action against her! They’re making money by doing the lab work, but if they keep chasing out the patients, how they continue to build their business! A BAD apple can ruin the entire LabCorp! Thank you for listening.

The last time I used them was in 2021, before I went on Medicare, because my health care provider added expensive facility fees to diagnostic tests. If you are self-pay, LabCorp's prices are reasonable and, unlike my experience with a hospital based system, it is not like pulling teeth to find out what something will cost. Now that I am on Medicare, though, what the hospital system charges is controlled. Another person expressed this concern over being charged more while using insurance, and LabCorp explained. ""We do offer special "cash" prices for patient's without insurance, as well as discounted prices for patients paying their invoices over the phone with a representative (within 30 days of the initial invoicing--excluding deductible, co-insurance, or copayment amounts). We are not, however, able to utilize insurance rates for non-covered patients. These rates are exclusively used, based on the carrier and their contract with Labcorp. " This is not a Labcorp problem. When I went there, I discovered that my out of pocket cost would be lower if I did NOT use insurance (a health sharing program) than if I did. I also found that, if I buy prescriptions at Sam's Club, the store price is often LESS than I would pay if I used insurance. The bottom line is, however, you should always ask the "with insurance" and "without insurance" price for anything. The system will not allow me to enter what I think is the accurate date, which would be some time in 2021. If, however, things have not changed there, I recommend them if you are paying for your own blood work, and your health care provider adds facility fees to testing.

This company is very unethical.   1. They promote an experimental, investigational and/or unproven test like Lipoprotein(a) as an adjunct to LDL cholesterol in the risk assessment and management of cardiovascular disease.  Yes, I should have some research first but I assumed that the tests they offer would be proven. 2. Labcorp charges different prices for the exact same service to different customers (for example, insured vs uninsured). They offer the same test on their website for $49 but charged me $126. They refused to refund me the difference. Their explanation: "We do offer special "cash" prices for patient's without insurance, as well as discounted prices for patients paying their invoices over the phone with a representative (within 30 days of the initial invoicing--excluding deductible, co-insurance, or copayment amounts).  We are not, however, able to utilize insurance rates for non-covered patients.  These rates are exclusively used, based on the carrier and their contract with Labcorp. " Yes, this sort of practice is not illegal. But it does not mean ethical.  What about principle, moral and ethical rules, and responsibilities to medical communities and sick people? Before you use Labcorp's tests, please make sure that their tests are proven and can help measure your health.

Recently I had a real billing problem with LabCorp. After a recent visit with my PCP to follow-up on my medical problems and get my prescriptions refilled, I went to this lab for the related bloodwork. Since I am 8 mos. unemployed I only have Cobra health insurance. I learned that my insurance did not cover routine labs as it was only catastrophic coverage with a $7500 deductible, so had to pay just over $150 for the lab work. Then 1 1/2 mos. later I got a bill from LabCorp for an additional $520. When calling billing there I asked for a cash-price for my lab work and she literally bullied me to pay another $390 right then and there instead of the $500+, and I had to do it on the spot or I would be responsible for the higher amount. She failed to mention that the reduced price was good for 15 days. So, I went ahead and paid it instead of thinking about it and “digesting” this high fee. They do offer an up-front, about $200 fee, for routine labs. Called them back to ask if this fee could be applied to me under my unemployment hardship. Calling them was a disaster, multiple calls to them on hold for at least 10 minutes, and actually they hung up on me 3 times. When I finally got through to a supervisor, she revealed that the representative should have told me about the fact that I had the 15 days to pay the reduced price, plus she did not offer any financing options. When asking about this after the fact, since I already paid it, she said this could not be done. It was a respectful call all the way through. I couldn’t help but question their purported mission statement at the beginning of each call. The supervisor reiterated how tolerant and easy to work with LabCorp. The supervisor was asked how often they get reimbursed at their much higher “retail” fee, and she paused then alluded to the fact that they do not as most of their patients’ payments are subjected to insurance providers that are contracted with them. In summary, this was a difficult lesson learned from a company who apparently screws paying patients. This company is NOT RECOMMENDED.
