Plottr is so useful!!! It so very well created that I was able to plot a whole book in a week! I just adore all the features. And I'm so thankful for the team that was able to answer my questions and help me get the discount I was struggling to access. Every time I needed help, I got more than I asked. Plottr is definitely worth a try!!

I was never big on outlining. I'd just think of an idea and "go," then something would come up or I'd lose my train of thought and I'd have an unfinished, or disorganized story that seemed good in my head and/or my stream of conscious but it failed miserably on paper. Like many writers, I tried to find a writing tool in hopes it would somehow make me a better writer. I tried many, in fact I still have plenty installed and collecting digital dust and taking up space. (Note to self: Uninstall them). An acquaintance told me it's not the software that makes the writer, it's the writer that writes constantly and consistently. So where was I going wrong? I had all of the expensive software that screenwriters and novelists use, but I still couldn't produce anything worth reading because I was so inconsistent with my thoughts, organization, and motivation. Then came my aha moment. A year or so ago I came across a blog post, YouTube video, or something -- I don't know. Either way, it was about Plottr in its v1 early beta stages. I downloaded it and was non-plussed about it because I didn't know what to do with it or how to do it. The only thing that kept it on my computer was the templates it came with. I just knew it was an outlining tool and outlining was the missing part of my process. When I used Plottr, I would only open it to look at the templates and then use one of the other tools to take those beats, and place them in a beat board while thinking I was some master writer now. The truths is, that my problems persisted. I never finished anything. In fact, I never got past the intro of a story or screenplay before I gave up. Time passed. I mean literal weeks and months, when I got an email to attend one of Plottr's live webinars with Troy Lambert. I attended, because it's not like I was writing anything. The webinar was a showcase of how 3 different authors + Troy use Plottr. That was my Aha moment. Now things made sense to me and I developed my own 5th style different from those people. Seeing how actual published writers used the darned think was a big deal. I was sold when I actually could keep track of every aspect of my writing, from characters, locations, custom tags, and even though they don't recommend it, I also write in it and then export to Scrivener to do cursory formatting. About 90% of my workflow is in Plottr. Oh, about those writing tools I purchased earlier on? Plotter made Scrivener make sense. Now when I export to Scrivener, so much of the organization of Scrivener makes sense now. No word on Final Draft or other expensive product integration yet, but with a Word Export, you (I) can import into many products and have a working document. I bided my time and bought a lifetime membership during a sale last year. In hindsight, I would have bought Pro, but hey, a license for three computers is good enough for now. I bought into the product in the early days, and now if you look at it, this thing is a must have. The constant updates, feature upgrades, their YouTube channel, and their webinars are simply top notch. As a grad student, I have converted fellow naysayers into Plottr users and they, just like me, do not start a project without Plottr. The incorporation of Plottr into our workflow is a gamechanger. For example, in the last 7 days, I have cranked out three complete and coherent short stories (<=5k words * 3) that can go on to become full novels if I choose to go that route. My cohorts are getting there. I've spent a stupid amount of money on industry tools trying to chase fool's gold, but the advice I received still holds true, it's not the tools that make the writer, it's writing constantly and consistently. Plottr helps with the consistency aspect to help you stay consistently organized, consistently standardized, consistently motivated, and consistently efficient. One of the most rewarding parts of using Plottr, is going back and opening up old projects and seeing the entire world you created for an older story. It makes sequels, prequals, and/or rewrites so much easier since the characters, settings, and everything else is all in one easy to manage location. I'm still finding out new things I can do every other time I use it. Yeah I sound like a pitch man, but I'm telling you, you would too if you have as much success as I've had. This is coming from a guy who couldn't do an outline outside of MS Word's outline view.

Great app for plotting a story , and the export option to scrivener is great.

Before Plottr I had a difficult time writing my book outline. Whenever I wrote it in a document, it was always hard to find specific scenes I wanted to move or change after. Plottr has made it very easy to manage my outline and export to Scrivener for me to write my draft.

The gain of time in the preparation of a novel is considerable.

Plotrr is very useful in the early stages of writing a story, where we are still a bit confused. With Plotrr and its numerous resources, it is possible to organize the ideas to reach the most awaited moment, which is to start writing the book.

I love Plottr. I highly recommend learning the very basics and plot something for fun. Then learn a little more and plot for fun. You can plot out an entire series very easily once you really get going. Don't forget to watch some of the YT videos and check out the community add ons. Even if you know the ins and outs I find the videos help inspire and refill my creative well a bit.
