This former client has published her dissertation. The content in their published dissertation was largely unchanged, with the only significant modification being that the client had moved a few paragraphs around and deleted a couple of sentences. A quality document was prepared for Susan and she successfully defended the content she received. Susan continues to harass our business by filing chargeback claims and attempting to take the payment of her project to arbitration. However, these attempts have failed as her claims remain unfounded. Her claim that she had to "re-write everything" herself and "discard whatever" we delivered is defamation. Real Professors believes that services such as Trustpilot serve a vital role in e-commerce and that consumers giving truthful descriptions of their experiences is essential for markets to work. However, lies such as these harm small businesses. If a consumer makes claims that a service did not achieve its stated purpose when there is evidence that it did as a way to coerce the business into a refund, all the while using transaction reversals to recoup money and failing because their claims to the bank when filing chargebacks and demands for arbitration were false, then the only remedy is to rely on the legal system. Attempts have been made to deliver documents to Susan, but to no avail. We continue to work with our attorney to serve paperwork.
I have reviewed the 291 emails between yourself and our firm between the first time you reached out to us for assistance in September 2023 and April 2024. I focused on the emails from January 2024, when you contracted with us and made payment for services to April 2024, when you informed us that you intended to speak with a lawyer and subsequently ceased contact with us until filing the review below this review.
The two claims you make here are that we did not deliver an acceptable draft and that we did not refund any portion of your money. Concerning the claim of not receiving an acceptable draft, all that Dr. Boardman received for direction was the dissertation manual that included a few sentences in a paragraph that listed some suggested sections. We have been doing this for many years, so we know the general format for sections in a dissertation, they typically do not deviate much. However, your chair was expecting a specific approach and format to your Chapter 3 that deviated from what is typically in Chapter 3. We did not find out about this from you until after your chair had accepted Chapter 1 and only had a few incidental recommendations for Chapter 2. It was only then that you sent a sample of what they wanted.
When Chapter 1 was accepted and Chapter 2 only required a few small revisions and you sent over a sample for Chapter 3 that would require Dr. Boardman redo significant parts, he was happy to do this for you. You were told that we would need all of your data because, based on the sample given to us after writing up your project, Chapter 3 would need to include narrative of how the data was collected and analysis was completed, not just a description of the plans for data collection and analysis. Chapter 3 would also require a description of characteristics of the sample for your study. These cannot be “fudged”. We needed the data and needed to perform analysis before this could be added to your Chapter.
So, if your project had advanced to the point where the only significant change needed was based on something that we did not receive until after the write-up was completed and you made the decision to not work with us any longer, there are absolutely no grounds for a refund.
We have a lot of clients who make significant sacrifices to afford our services and we work painstakingly hard to satisfy their committees. We respect them and their sacrifices because we understand what this type of expense can mean and many of our clients are struggling and need a degree to advance or improve their pay.
