I received very poor service and the information about Helocs was standard information easily available online and quite dated. CERTAINLY not worth $5997.00. Many promises implied to get yo to sign up but no value recieved. When a refund was quickly requested, even though I completed the modules, it was quickly DENIED. Not even a partial offer!

I felt I got scammed
I felt I got scammed! When I did the sales call to sign up I was assured that it was not business credit card stacking. However, after going through the educational videos within 1 week, I realized that what they were offering is exactly the same as credit card stacking which is handled by a third party company. I paid $6000 and within 1 week they only refunded me $2000 and tried to get me to try another one of their products which I clearly did not need. After speaking with their customer service rep, they would not refund me the full price even after I told them that the sales call was not fully transparent and had I known it was exactly like credit card stacking I would not have purchased the course. I thought it was very misleading.

I'm sorry to hear you walked away feeling this way.
Based on our records, you enrolled specifically to learn strategies involving lines of credit for debt reduction, future homeownership, and business opportunities. Those topics are covered within our educational program, and clients are not required to use any particular third-party provider.
When you contacted our team with concerns, we worked directly with you and provided a partial refund as a good-faith effort to help resolve the situation.
Our goal has always been to provide education, transparency, and support so people can make informed financial decisions for themselves. While I'm disappointed we weren't able to meet your expectations, I appreciate you sharing your feedback and wish you the very best moving forward.

The guarantee is not honored
During my sales call I repeatedly confirmed with the rep that their program could assess and make recommendations for my particular situation, which is a little unique. They assured me that their team could handle it, and if not there is a money back guarantee. As it turns out, they couldn't work through my situation. In order to qualify for a refund you have to complete the required meetings and coursework. I did that and requested a refund 4 different times. No response. I contested the charge with my credit card company. RYU DID respond to my CC company, even though they wouldn't respond to me, with documentation of my having completed the course and meetings. Because I used the services (as required to qualify for a refund), my credit card company denied my request. This is really shady. RYU seems to have specifically set up the terms of the guarantee so that you CAN'T get a refund. Not recommended.

I'm sorry to hear this was your experience.
If you reached out multiple times requesting assistance and didn't receive a response, then we need to look into that. That's not the experience we want anyone to have.
I'd like the opportunity to review what happened here personally.
If you're open to it, please reply and/or email support@replaceyouruniversity with the name and email address associated with your account, along with the email address you used to submit your refund requests. We'll pull up your file, review the communication history, and see exactly where things broke down.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

They operated a bait and switch
They operated a bait and switch. They sold us on a program, having qualified us with our actual numbers, only to tell us that we actually can't replace our mortgage they way they initially told us once they had our money. The investment into this program is considerable and despite quickly realizing that this was not going to work for us, and gave us zero new information, they refused to refund our money. We could pay off our mortgage simply by doing extra monthly payments in the same amount of time their $6000 program would have. We own our own business and know how to treat customers. They do not.

Hi — I understand how this situation could feel frustrating, and I want to clarify a few key points for context.
During the strategy review, it was determined that the clients’ situation did not support an immediate first-position HELOC replacing their mortgage. This does not constitute a change in the program or a “bait and switch,” but rather the application of the education to their specific financial circumstances, which is the intended and disclosed process.
Refund eligibility is outlined in the Client Expectation Agreement and requires participation in the education and strategy evaluation process. Once the program has been accessed and services like analysis and coaching have been delivered, a full refund is not applicable.
In this case, the program was delivered as outlined, including educational access and personalized analysis. While a full refund was not warranted under the agreement, we acknowledged there may have been a gap in expectations and offered a $1,500 partial refund as a goodwill gesture. That offer remains available.
We respectfully disagree with the claim that nothing was received. The education, strategy, and support were provided as agreed, and the outcome here reflects individual financial factors and lender constraints — not a change in the program itself.

Paid $6,997 in October 2025 for the Replace Your Mortgage course.
The entire strategy depends on securing a first-lien HELOC. My mortgage is locked at 3.12% fixed. After completing the course and running the numbers (including their suggested 12–15% PLOC alternatives), the program would have cost me substantially more in interest, not less. It is simply unsuitable for anyone with a low-rate mortgage.
I was denied by three separate banks (taxes)
Their money-back guarantee clearly states a refund (less a $300 admin fee) if you cannot obtain the required financing after following their process.
I submitted a complete refund request with all required denial letters and documentation on October 28, 2025, 20 days ago.
I have followed up multiple times and received zero response of any kind, despite their written policy claiming refunds are processed in 3–5 business days.
I was forced to file a BBB complaint today just to get any acknowledgment. The complete radio silence after taking $7,000 is unacceptable and, in my opinion, deceptive.
If your rate is already low or your financial/tax situation is anything but textbook, do not spend the money. The course is polished, but the “guarantee” and post-sale support are nonexistent.
Still waiting for my $6,697 refund three weeks later.
Update: Finally recieved a phone call and apologie with a refund for the $6,697.00

Hi Scott,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the timeline for future readers.
After receiving your refund request, our team followed our standard review process, which includes confirming lender feedback and reviewing all viable options for success. In this case, the primary reason for the bank denials involved aspects of your financial profile that required additional verification with our lending partners. These factors were not disclosed prior to enrollment; had they been, we would not have qualified you to join the RYM program.
On November 12, 2025, our Sales Manager reached out to review alternative options. While those paths were presented, we fully respect your decision not to pursue them.
Your refund was approved and processed on November 18, 2025, in the amount of $6,697, in accordance with our published refund policy (less the $300 administrative fee). This occurred prior to this review being posted.
While refunds are typically processed within a standard window, some reviews take additional time when lender denials must be validated. Our goal is always to ensure every reasonable option has been explored before finalizing a refund.
We appreciate your acknowledgment of the course content and wish you the best moving forward.

A HELOC Mortgage to reduce interest paid on a home loan.
Replace your mortgage.com
I briefly listened to a portion of the sales pitch of this company, and according to what they said, I should be able pay off my entire mortgage in 7 years or less, with a HELOC loan.
So, first to get a HELOC mortgage you would need to own some property, free and clear, to act as the collateral for the mortgage, which I don't see how that would work to buy the property initially. Then, a quick calculation, using my own $235,000 mortgage with a monthly payment of $1,457.00 monthly over a period of seven years equals a total of payments, without interest, to be roughly $122,000. Still far short of the total amount of $235,000. So, I see no way this will ever meet the expectation of paying the mortgage off in full, without having to add additional money to the payments. Even without interest, I calculate it will take 13 years, 4 months to pay off my mortgage.
Of course the remaining payments of 16 years, 8 months would be solid interest. Therefore, when people are saying that they paid off their mortgage in 7 years and sometimes less, (even as little as 2 or 3 years) I look on this with a very skeptical eye, it is not mathematically possible. I feel this is greatly exaggerated.

Hi there — I appreciate you taking the time to think this through and run your own numbers. That’s exactly what people should be doing.
A couple of important clarifications, because there are some misunderstandings about what we actually teach at Replace Your Mortgage.
First, you do not need to own a home free and clear to use a HELOC. Many banks offer what’s called a first-lien HELOC, which is used to purchase a home — similar to a mortgage, just structured differently.
Second, your calculation assumes the payment stays the same and the balance declines slowly over time. That’s how a traditional amortized mortgage works. What we teach is different.
The strategy is not about magically paying off a loan with less money — the math still has to work. It’s about changing how cash flow interacts with the loan balance, so principal is reduced faster, which in turn reduces how much interest accrues. When income is consistently flowing against the balance, the timeline can compress significantly — but it depends entirely on the individual’s cash flow, discipline, and structure.
That’s why we’re very clear: this is not a fit for everyone, and results are not guaranteed. But for households that have margin between income and expenses, the difference in how interest is calculated can be substantial.
Skepticism is healthy. We just encourage people to look at the full structure and math, not a simplified version of a fixed monthly payment over time. We also have a calculator on our website you can use.
