The person who took car of our dogs gets 5 plus stars. Rover gets 1. Way too many e mails and commercials from Rover. They provided an excellent service then ruined with the e mail bombardment afterwards.

The app is where i have a lot of problems. I dont know why its so hard to navigate from place to place but it is. Simple things are very difficult on this app. The walkers are truely good people. They take good care of your animals and i have never had a "bad" walk. All 3 of my dogs love going on walks with rover walkers. The prices are very reasonable and i would suggest anyone to try it. But have lots of patience with the app.

So the couple that watched my dog was great. I give them 4.5 stars. However the app was crummy. It took me three days to get my phone number fixed on the app. In addition, when I looked for rates I was booking $35/ per day rates. The estimates did not disclose the total cost and the puppy upcharge. The final bill was roughly $64 a day - where upon I would not have booked this knowing the final bill would be so high. It’s a good business idea but the fees involved and less than upfront approach regarding fees feels sneaky and can leave the customer feeling less than good about it. I have a bad taste in my mouth regarding how this company does business. It would be another thing entirely of all amounts of fees and add ons were clearly disclosed. Like how you buy an airline ticket - you can see what the final cost will be before purchasing. Regardless of the reply below, it is not set up to easily view all the fees. Try to book one for yourself on the app.

Hello Barb, we appreciate you sharing your feedback and are happy to hear you found a great care provider who fits your needs! We're sorry for any confusion in the booking process as all final charges are available to view prior to accepting and paying for your stay. All care providers manage their own rates and often this does include puppy rates, additional pet(s) rates, extended stay rates, etc, but can easily be discussed prior to booking a stay. We'd be happy to answer any questions you might still have and are available 24/7 at 888-453-7889

I have had ups and downs using Rover as a customer. As a Rover sitter/walker it has been consistently bad. Customers (and pets) do not get rated the way sitters do, so you cannot warn the next sitter than a dog is aggressive or an owner lies about their behavior. Also the Rover app consistently forces me to turn it on in the background (for instance while I am on a walk for location tracking), then randomly at 9pm when I am sitting on my couch watching TV my phone will tell me that the Rover app is tracking my location. Not cool. Hopefully there will be a class action lawsuit about it, along with how much fees they take (15-20% from the sitter, then also charging the customer fees without telling them how much they already took from the sitter), and how long they hold onto it (up to 2 weeks AFTER you completed the job). If I didn't love animals and not have an easy marketing option other than Rover, I would not use the app.

Thank you for sharing your experience about the Rover platform. Although reviews do not work entirely the same for pets and pet owners (as they are not providing services or care) you are still able to provide a Dog Review via the booking in your inbox. Additionally, you can always call Rover to report any specific safety concerns. We are available 24/7 and happy to discuss these types of things directly with you. The Rover fee is standard across the industry and helps invest into the community by providing ongoing 24/4 support, trust and safety coverage, educational opportunities, and important site maintenance and product improvements. They also help cover benefits for sitters, including the costs of processing payments and ongoing promotion of sitters on Rover. Regarding your location tracking. Google recently changed its requirements around how location usage is requested. The phrase “at all times” is how Rover has to request location tracking while the app is not actively being used. The only case where we actually need it is during Rover Card walks; we track the walks that Rover Sitters are on to generate a map. Hope this helps

It was suggested that I try Rover, to find a walker for my pup. I started using Rover 4yrs ago, and found some great walkers, until the last six months. I live in NH. The last few months have been stressful. The walkers don't respond or update their availability. The integrity has gone downhill, and the price has gone thru the roof. Seriously, $35 for a half hour walk??

Hi Jon, we're so sorry for that experience. We do send out regular reminders to sitters on Rover to update their availability and their accounts are affected if they do not. We are also currently testing more reminder options! Also sitters on Rover set their own rates, so you'll find that it will vary from sitter to sitter. If you haven't already you can message up to ten different sitters a day. That way you can find the perfect match for you and your pet.

I found the sitter to be inviting, welcoming and friendly. I thought he did an okay job with my dog; however, the problem I had with the sitter is he did not follow any of my directions for my pet. In fact, he went and changed everything the doctor and breeder asked me to do to ensure my dog's great health. I don't think 🤔 I will not use him again.

Shannon did a pretty good job but left me with some laundry to take care of rearrange some things and didn't let me know she didn't clean the window sills as I was told she will and she didn't do a lot of the baseboards as I was told she would my biggest concern is that she left me with some laundry to do by myself I had to actually have somebody else come in to do the rest of the laundry

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review. However, this appears to be based on an experience regarding a maid or cleaning service and not dog walking or boarding as found through Rover. I went ahead and doubled checked to see if you had ever booked with someone by the name of Shannon and didn't find a match. Otherwise, please let us know if you have any feedback about your experience with your dog sitter.
