don’t quite know what to say. I am very disappointed I with my Safe Step Walk-In Tub.
It was delivered roughly 3 ½ weeks ago and has never been used
Apparently I am too large to fit in it;
We contacted our salesman, Bob Burgess and it has been 3 weeks since I haven’t from him.
I have wasted my lifesavings on a useless piece of equipment.

Not enough hot water to use!!
We have no complaints about the quality and function of the unit, but we feel the sales person could have been more candid about the amount of hot water needed. We had a 40 gallon water heater, and the salesman said 'it should be alright'. I knew better and was planning to replace it with a 50 gallon unit, and did so. We still do not have enough hot water to cover the back jets to be able to use them. A tankless water heater is only $600 or so dollars, but they need 4 40amp breakers, which would require a $6000 upgrade to our electrical service. We do not have space for an 80 gallon water heater. This company should be more forthright about the water requirements.

Beware don't trust the salesperson!!
Like many others listed here my wife and I were so trusting in our salesperson that he took advantage of us. I still to this day find it amazing on how the "find" these discounts. They even give discounts where you shouldn't qualify, i.e. we got a military discount because of our respective fathers service - neither of us have ever served time in the armed forces.
When the salesperson discussed the water heater allowance we went down to the basement to see the size of our water heater he gave us the allowance and said we'd be fine! When the installers were testing the tub they said that the water heater is too small to fill the tub!! They recommended that we upgrade to a tankless system. The problem is that it will cost us over $3000.00!!
We received a "personal" e-mail from the founder of Safe step tub and to give them a 5 Star review and if we were not completely satisfied to contact him. I have sent 3 different e-mails to the founder and received absolutely no responses!
How can they discount a tub from over $20,000 down to $14,000? It is all bunk. Stay away you'll be glad you did.
On a positive note the installers were great! On-time and professional, although we had to remind them to wear their masks while in our home.

Customer Service absolute worst.
Product might be good but the initial contact service was so rude I just couldn't image customer service being any better AFTER the sale. Victor was RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. I'll purchase elsewhere before I give a single cent to this company and definitely will not refer anyone.

Worst financial decision I've ever made
I bought my tub in 2016. In 2017, the tub started leaking down through my kitchen ceiling, ruining a 4x2 section. It was determined to be a faulty gate valve. Initially, Safe Step tried to say that the problem was due to my plumbing. A plumber checked it and told me it was a valve put on during installation. Took several weeks for a repair person to come out to fix it.
It is now leaking again, though only when I turn on the jets. No leaks when I use the tub as a shower. So it's not the drain.
It's been 4 weeks and I am still waiting for a repair person to contact me.
I am a senior citizen and have made many important, expensive financial decisions in my life. Buying a Safe Step tub was the WORST financial decision I have ever made.

They installed the tub with a defective…
They installed the tub with a defective drain. Took 2 days to fix. Tub still leaks and they "can't duplicate the problem". Tub is poorly designed, especially if you buy the overhead rain shower option. It sprays on to the shower and valve base then runs out on to the bathroom floor. The sides of the tub aren't high enough, so when you sit in it with the jets running, the water splashes out on to the floor. The fill pipe sticks out too far into the tub so if you reach down to pick up the bar of soap you dropped, you split your skull on the fill pipe. There is no labeling on the on/off valve, so older folks can't figure out how to switch from tub fill to shower etc.... There is no splash guard on the front of the tub so water runs off on the floor. And the kicker: my wife who needs a tub like this the most can't use it because it hassles the hell out of her and therefore she hates it! A $21,406.00 piece of .... you will do well not to buy.

DECEPTION AND SERVICE ISSUES - DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH SAFE-STEP
The salesmen for Safe Step are well trained to be very friendly and enthusiastic, but MISLEADING. We were told the installers and repairmen are employees of Safe Step, so they really care about keeping the customers happy. He said, although they will have to remove your bathroom door and the frame, I promise you they will put everything back together and will leave your house exactly the way they found it. NOT SO!! They use outside contractors for both installation and repairs (if you can get them to show up for repairs). We're angry at ourselves for paying $18,900, because he convinced my husband and me that along with the best tub on the market, we were buying great service from a highly reputable company. And that was with approximately $3,000 help from Helping Hands due to medical problems we both have. Before the sales pitch and measuring were totally complete, he got a call to go out for another sales appointment, so then it was all a big rush! He went back and forth with his superiors trying to get us an even better price. Really? We knew it was costly, but along with service issues, we didn't want problems with poor installation in our house we just built 5 years ago. I quickly initialed each item in the contract so he could get to his next appointment. The installer told me he works for himself and does work for another company that is hired by Safe Step for installation. He told me that the sales rep had incorrect measurements. They cracked my door frame, the bathroom door no longer stays shut or locks, they sawed out a corner of my wall and left scratched and indented baseboards in order to fit the tub into the bathroom. How I wish I had told then to STOP THE INSTALLATION, but I wanted my tub and was under the assumption they were going to leave my home the way they found it. I was shocked when the installer told me they don't do the repairs on walls and doors. He then showed me where I had initialed that they don't do this. The installation was October 26, 2020. After a couple of calls, I finally got in touch with a service manager and was told someone would come out to fix the heater and drain in the tub along with the walls, etc. Since nobody has come out, I talked once again over a week ago to another person in service. As of this review (on Dec. 3) nobody has come out. I have called and left messages several times and have gotten no return calls. This morning, I pressed 0 for the receptionist, and I GOT A RECORDING!! Don't let their sales pitch pull you in -- it's a bunch of bunk!
