Hello Mary- We always consider it a great compliment when we are able to treat not just one member of a family but two or more. It is the ultimate seal of approval when a patient sends there other family members whether it's a husband/wife/son/daughter/mother..... Hello LW- We often see patients who have been seen by doctors or 'clinics' that do 'some vein work also'. Fortunately in NY we live in an area where there are medical specialists for almost every condition, and the more specialized and devoted to one field a doctor is, the better the outcomes should be. As I often say 'when I need a knee replacement some day, it's going to be done by a doctor who does nothing but knee replacements !!'. Hi Tikva- Thank you for the very kind review but lets not forget to add you went for years and years and years, between visits as your leg vein treatments have held up tremendously. Nobody can honestly say that you will never develop other new veins over time. Just as you once had no spider or varicose veins and then they appeared, you may someday again develop some. Hello Valerie- Your story is one we hear often- patients who are unhappy with another doctor or their suggestions for therapy, but who seek us out for a second opinion. While we do use lasers and microsurgery, not every patient needs every procedure !!! Your story is also familiar in that you if I recall correctly you were a bit nervous before therapy but found it to be basically painless and very effective for both medical and cosmetic benefits. Hi JP- Thanks for posting your review and comments. As for down time after treatment- it's really not necessary. While we do cover the treated sites with cotton and surgical tape, we only ask that the cotton balls not get wet while they are on. In most cases it's just a few hours so we only ask that you not shower or wet the legs for just a few hours after treatment. Hello Robin- It's always a great compliment when we see patients sent by friends or relatives or patients who have traveled a good distance to be treated. I know your trip is very long but at least you are happy with the results !! I have had patients who have said something along the line of 'if it takes even an extra hour or two of travel, but the results are really good, it works out to about one or two minutes a day over a year'. As for the hand treatment, please remember that should you ever develop other hand veins, there will never be any additional cost to treatment. It's a life time guarantee. The reality is that veins are more likely to recur in the legs as they bear weight/are below the heart/have a longer distance to travel to get back to the heart......etc but still treating them early prevents them from worsening over time. Also while vein recurrence if more likely in the legs and I sometimes think to myself just how bad a patients legs would have been had they never ever had treatment before.
