Dips your toes into the subjects.
It was a cheaper option and I was able to complete the courses at my own pace. I enjoyed the materials (books) and took the tests online. I finished one for Drug and Alcohol Specialist as I originally wanted a career in counseling or therapy. I received my diploma for this. I also started Business Management and was one book away from completing it. I was billed for the rest of the course, if I wanted to finish, I didn't owe much but ultimately didn't have the time AT ALL and had too many important bills to finish paying. They never tried to get the remainder from me after a couple of months and it doesn't show up anywhere else. From my understanding at this time, you weren't locked in to pay, you just kept up with payments to get your next book and had to have the remainder paid off to receive your diploma/certificate. ALSO they clearly state that this is "career training", most being labeled as introductions, not a real license or certification, most of the courses would require additional schooling. It's more of a find out if its right for you type thing. You won't find out everything there is to know about Forensic Science or Child Psychology and not need more schooling. Though some courses like Gardening, Death Doula, Security Guard, or Bartending, I think those courses might be sufficient for an entry level position and show that you have done extra work to learn more about the profession. In all I enjoyed the experience and would definitely use them again from some courses like cybersecurity, bookkeeping or accounting.
