Arrived for pick up late, charged me double for the space that was pre-calculated, refused to give me any paperwork that I signed during pick up. Said delivery would be in five days, the contract said 30, they took a total of 69 days. My items were obviously mishandled, showing signs of damage, mold from storage, I received two boxes that were not mine and I’m pretty sure somebody else has my two boxes. Support was lacking, I had a random cell phone number of a random employee who could give me vague updates every couple of days. Finally upon delivery, they tried to hold my delivery hostage for more money. I paid for a door to door service and they wanted me to rent a truck to pick up my household goods from the semi truck.

Worst Moving Company Ever
Worst experience we ever had with a company. They arrived on site and would not honor the quote. We were told that we could either pay the additional amount which was triple the original quote or lose our nearly $4,000 deposit. I felt as if we were held hostage. The two movers were very unprofessional. They arrived in a beat-up U-Haul and Penske rental trucks. They looked at what we had and said they didn't bring enough packing materials. Only brought 24 moving blankets for 44 pieces of furniture. They asked us for our blankets and old bed comforters then just used chunks of cardboard to pack the rest. We were very worried about the condition it would arrive in once it got to our destination. Little did we know that it was going to a warehouse first until they had a truck filled to go to the west coast. When the driver called to arrange delivery (two weeks later), he said that we would not come to our house and we had to pay for a shuttle. Now we have had full size trailer trucks here before but he wouldn't come. We had to rent a U-Haul and meet him in a large parking lot to offload our furniture. He had no help, just the driver to unload the truck. Then he had the nerve to make us pay for the moving blankets that were left on our furniture. Another thing to be aware of is that they want paid in cash or money order so you cannot dispute any charges. Original quote was $4,700 and final payment was over $8,400 or we did not get our belongings. Stay far away from this shady company.

This was the most terrible company I…
This was the most terrible company I have ever done business with. Furniture was damaged or totally destroyed. Chairs with legs broken off, televisions destroyed with screens cracked , etc. The list is too long too long to post here. To date we have recovered about 50% of the damaged incurred from our insurance company. Not once have we ever heard from this shady company. Our damage was over $10,000. If this company ever moves any of your furniture you will forever regret it. I would give them a below zero rating if this was possible.

AVOID AT ALL CO$T$
I contracted with this company in May 2023. My worst experience ever with any company. They picked up my belongings on May 18, 2023, and I was told it would be delivered on May 22, 2023. I called on May 23, asking about the delivery. I was told they have up to two weeks to deliver my belongings. The person was very rude and sent me an email concerning the two weeks delivery policy. I was very upset because I was told I would have my items on that Monday. My items were delivered on June 1, 2023. I was very upset. I incurred over $500 in daily living expenses because I moved over 1000 miles. I didn't have the necessary items to function everyday living. We also had to purchase unnecessary items and clothes.
When things were finally delivered. I had to pay an additional 1500 because they said where I live in an area that didn't allow a tractor-trailer on my street. They said they had to get two box trucks. And additional movers because i had a lot of items. They used 2 guys and the same single box truck to deliver ALL my items. They made two trips. I called the guy and told him this. I asked him why is he charging me 1500 when there were only 2 guys, and they used the same truck. I reiterated what he said about 2 trucks and additional drivers. He was very sarcastic. The price was increased four times from the initial 4k to 7k than an additional 7k and 1500 the day of the delivery.
This company is SCAM, and it was listed 5 stars on goggle. I'm disgusted and very angry. I paid over 15k to have my belongings moved. Several items were either broken, scratched, or stolen. I've only shown a few things. This company is a brokerage company which I didn't know. They get your money and charge double the price. They subcontract their workout and don't tell their customers. I called the company to tell them all the things that were stolen or broken. They referred me to a 3rd party. I was given an email in that email, and it stated to keep the items that were in the packaging. I threw them out, not knowing their poilcy prior to seeing the policy. I was stated you can be denied if you don't have the package it was wrapped in, etc. They don't tell you this prior to contracted.

This company was terrible
This company was terrible. Everything that could be broken was broken. I was quoted one price & I didn't have much but once they came & got all my belongings loaded they added on over a extra thousand dollars. I can say the guys were fast with wrapping my things up & getting them loaded but between the pick up & drop off my items were broken, i.e. fishtank, jewelry armoire, speakers, wall unit & more. I only had basic insurance which didn't cover the damages so they only gave me $150 when my stuff was worth way more. They barely answer the phone once they have your belongings. It took way longer for my items to arrive than they initially stated. This was a big lesson for me. I hope this helps someone else as I didn't read reviews before hand as I was pressed for time & out of town working.

Stolen and damaged items; no communication
I recommend to stay away from SH Movers, and here is why:
1. The company charged me extra $ upon arrival. Staff continued to add to the initial charge I negotiated over the phone with an intermediary == Value Added Moving - Nationwide Interstate Moving Specialists (from which I also recommend to stay away).
2. The company was not responsive to my complaint, which included damage and literally theft of my personal belongings in excess of $2,000.
3. The company representative left keys to my U-Haul unit under the door, which exposed my items to theft/damage.
Thus, please use services of a professional company, not a company with loose standards and unprofessional staff.
Good luck with your move!

Should be able to leave negative stars
Should be able to leave negative stars. Read these carefully. The negatives are real and their stories are just like mine, horrible experience. The short sweet reviews are fake. Try finding and corresponding with those people.
Between value added bait and switch con and SH “shoddy” movers this was the worst experience imaginable! Beware!
Burn your stuff or leave it behind before you spend money with these crooks!

Moving with SH Movers in detail
I want to tell my story in detail because when I was looking for information on those companies I didn’t find much besides many fake reviews. So our moving process started with me calling Value Added Moving company and them giving me an estimate. But the trick they do after you describe in detail all items you need to move is they tell you that you would need much smaller space in the truck than you would actually need and they give you a great discount on that price, but the price for square feet stays the same. So this Value Added Moving company are brokers and look on the market for movers with the truck to come to pick up your stuff. You don’t even know which company will come. So in our case, we were very unlucky and our stuff was picked up by SHMovers. If you call their phone they say something like “Sorry our office was affected by covid 19 and all our limited staff is busy with other customers, the best way to contact us is over email”. There is no call waiting for estimates, or offer to call you back, they send you right to the voice mail. And no matter when you call it’s the same result. One time I tried the extension putting my finger in the air and got to some real person, but then he transferred me back to the broker, who told me that I need to contact SHMovers. So it’s a closed circle.. if any problems and you’ll have lots of those with them for sure there is no way to get to them to solve them. So scammy.
So to continue the story on the day SHMovers picked up our stuff after loading it in the truck they told us that we need to pay two and half times more than the estimate, which was 18K.. we didn’t have the choice we had to pay them, because we had to move that day. We gave them a month to drive from the east to the west coast. But when it got to the delivery date, they said it will take additional 7-21 days to deliver. We have 2 small kids and it was a real challenge to be without any furniture with them in an empty house. Apparently, after pick up they unload everything in a local storage facility and then load everything back around the date they were supposed to deliver, so they drive a few more days after that.
So eventually a few days later they arrived.
We needed some paper on outdoor furniture (agricultural matter), but nobody told us anything.. so professional! So our things had to be in quarantine and after delivery, they had to be inspected.
When I was signing the contract the person from Value Added Moving company told us that all items will be disassembled and reassembled at the delivery place and all boxes will be left in the room according to the note on the box. But on the delivery day, it was a mess, they lost some screws from some disassembled furniture and other furniture with screws they refused to assemble. So all disassembled furniture is not useful now. They lost a few other items during that unloading uploading process and they were trying to give us some furniture that wasn’t ours. They have left behind most of the packing material, so we have to utilize it ourselves. I’ve emailed them letting them know about problems but no reply…
Are all moves like that? Or there is a good company out there?
