I emailed 24hrs ago no response, so I started to call them no response still after an hour on the phone, just kept saying 'all our representatives are busy and wait or just leave a message press 1,(w. t. f) how are you busy after hour or more waiting on the phone

Sterling has a very serious lack of what a legal 7 year background is. Serious lack of communication in email only. I not even sure if the company is US based. I found serious inconsistencies they refused to correct without legal representation forcing the issues. I will never use again or sign any document giving any third party access to my SS number or ability to absolve themselves legally for the data they provide. No I will not submit to the pathetic review offered with days of lapse time and inconsistent information.

I still have not received the address where to go to have my blood drawn. It was supposed to be drawn by today and I still don’t know where to go. First I should have received the address in four hours. Then, I called and address was to be sent by End of day yesterday. Blood was to be drawn today or offer could be rescinded. Still no address.

They have done several background checks over the years. They do not contact previous employers, they say they have not heard back. I have confirmed the 3 times they pulled that no one was contacted. They will ask for your tax returns to confirm even though you have paystubs to support your employment. They delay your onboarding.

It was hard to understand her accent was very strong ..... and I had to look up a zip code for her to find a place to go do my drug test? I have never done that I asked if she could look in the surrounding areas .... and ? She said she couldn’t she than asked for my divers license number When I got it she asked what state I was in and never brought up my license again I told her I was in Utah..... and she said what is the abbreviation for that .... this was a very stressful call just to find out where I needed to do my drug test at...

I called with a quick question about the first page of the form I was filling out. The question was about whether I verify my location as my current primary address or the primary address I will be moving into when I relocate for the position for which I'm applying. Before providing me a response for the question, the staff member gathered a lot of information from me that did not seem necessary to be able to answer my question. The staff member then provided me a quick, straightforward response. She asked whether I needed help with anything else, and I told her no and that I would call back if I have any other questions as I continue, at which point she proceeded to give me more than 3 minutes of unsolicited advice about filling out the form that I did not need nor ask for. I felt this was unnecessary and it felt as though she were talking down to me rather than listening and providing adequate customer service. It felt as if she were trying to meet a quota by keeping me on the phone longer than necessary to try to provide extra help that I did not require, and it was a waste of my time. The entire conversation, which I did not expect to take more than 3 minutes, lasted 10 minutes total.

While using the website it was a bit clunky and crashed once. The session also timed out at one point. I was asked to input my information twice which was fairly annoying. On top of all of that, received an additional email asking for my employment history for verification, which, I had in fact input twice already. At the time of writing this review, the background check status is still pending. I imagine my employer chose Sterling for the ease and expeditious nature of their background check services but I have found the process to be neither easy nor expeditious.
