The Smarter Way To Repay Federal Student LoansWe specialise in helping high balance borrowers navigate the department of education's student loan repayment Programs. The rules within these programs are ever changing and complex, yet full of opportunity. When you call your loan servicer, you're not always shown the best options. They do not break down the financial implications of choosing each and every one of their repayment programs. And they do not show you how to navigate these programs optimally to save you the most amount of money. They simply don't have the training, tools or incentive to do all of this work for you.Student Loan Tutor on the other hand, is a team of highly trained professionals. Our tutors are equipped with our proprietary calculator, allowing us to show you all of your repayment options and find the best repayment plan for your unique situation. In addition we handle all paperwork and ensure everything is done on time and help our clients avoid the many pitfalls associated with Student Loans. I stumbled upon Student Loan Tutors on a podcast interview and set up a phone appointment. My first conversation showed me just how little I knew about my loans and how much help I really needed. This is radical restructuring and a way to level the economic playing field. Genevieve then took over the process and was great! She even navigated doing all this in the middle of a pandemic. My only complaint is that I didn’t do this years ago.

I was very excited to be working with STL after my initial consult - the proposed numbers looked great and would save me a lot of money every month! After STL helped me re-certify my loans, my monthly payment was a little higher than they had suggested it would be, but it was still an improvement so I felt satisfied. Then they tried to help me consolidate my some of my smaller loans with my larger Fed loans. During the consolidation process I was instructed multiple times by STL to not make payments on my loans. Months passed and I received multiple “overdue” notices, but STL still insisted I should not make payments as we were still in the consolidation process. Long story short, one of my loans is not able to be consolidated, and so I now have a 90-day late payment hit on my credit score. This will apparently be on my credit score for SEVEN YEARS. When I expressed my frustration to STL and asked what could be done, I did not get a response.

Hello Caitlin, thank you for reaching out to us! While we don't work with private loans, we would like to help you resolve this late payment with your school. I will have someone contact you today. Unfortunately there are no programs available for private loans, only direct federal student loans, and so we would not had seen that you also had private loan that required a monthly payment. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding here, and we would like to offer our help.

Such a wonderful group to work with! They genuinely want to help their clients and that shined from the start. Very thorough in discussing my options and plan of action. Always quick to respond if I have any questions too. I'm happy to be working with them and have them advocating for me!

Student loan tutor kicks butt! After getting off the phone with them I messaged about 80 of my Chiropractic colleagues to tell them about this amazing business. If I had spoke with them 1.5 years ago I would have saved about 8k in interest, and that's just in the first 1.5 years! Imagine how much more I would be spending if I didn't talk to them at all! SOO INFORMATIVE. This phone call cut my interest in half over the life of my loan. They help you understand your loans in the long term and put you in the plan that is right for you, with a call each year to re-evaluate. I wish that I understood this stuff when signing up for my loans (someone dropped the ball here!!) and I think they should be hired at all Chiropractic Schools. Having an informative call with them is something you should NOT wait on. Call them ASAP! Their team is awesome, friendly and super knowledgeable. You'll be glad you did!
